Hi everyone, i have been planning to get a new mattress in the sales. I am super sensitive, can feel every spring even through a thick memory foam topper. I can't find an electric blanket that doesn't feel hard either. i have been looking at a simba, I'm allergic to latex, would it affect me through the cover and sheets? I really prefer a soft mattress but i also have a very bad lower back. Any suggestions please, I barely sleep so i'm making this a priority. Thank you

I'm a!so like you looking for a new mattress have the same problems as you. Strangely when we had a fee days away the mattress was quite firm and I thought "oh no" but I actually felt better on it. It was certainly easier to get in and out of bed! I am wondering whether that is the way to go but with a nice thick down mattress topper.x

To be honest your best bet would be to go to shop and ask sales person for advice .Any one decent will be able to help and advise you .Different mattress feel different according to what base you have .

As will the thickness of mattress if sprung as the more springs the better support.

Took me all day to choose one .Many will exchange after so many weeks if it does not suite you

I’ve just replaced my mattress of 10 years and am really sensitive to latex and to be honest never sleep if I have to sleep anywhere but my own bed. I found the perfect mattress that supports my back and is also quite soft . I bought the first one 10 years ago in Scotland when we lived there and was dreading having to replace it.

I’ve managed to find one virtually the same . It’s a Sealy 3000 ( or maybe more) pocket sprung with a natural feather and down topper. It was one of the most expensive Bensons did but oh my is it worth it. My back is supported but the topper sort of encompasses my whole body. Never had a bad back on this mattress.

I recommend the super king if you have space as then I can stretch out and my hubby has his own little 18 inch designated area at his side 😁. x

A bed that does a trial could be good but I'd still want to try first. Have u spotted the slumberland studio soft? Reviews are good. I can't find one to try n it's only got a five year guarantee. Very few quality soft mattresses about. Octaspring sounds interesting if u have buckets of money. Love to know if anyone has a recommended cosy soft mattress. My mattress was cosy in the shop but the one I got was too hard. The salesman said it would soon wear in like the one in the shop but it didn't. No returns either. Expensive mistake. Not easy getting it right as fibromyalgia makes even the softest cloud lumpy n hard. Good luck.

Good morning as al10says getting one that does a trial is the best way I think. The eve and the Emma do this.also dormeo, have a good selection and do trial nights.I have recently bough a dormeo its made up of layer's its really good.I think with fibro or pain we feel we need softness but we need some firmness for support.I hope you find one that suites you.

I recently got an OTTY one and it is really good. Comes with 100 days trial too.

Hi We have spent loads on replacing uncomfortable mattresses but realised it is me and not feels good. we have put a soft duvet over the bed and under the sheet we sleep on and that helped more than anything as still have support but still dreaming of a marshmallow bed.

John Ryan Contemporary. You can talk to them on the phone, they seem very open and honest, no mattresses in stores but a long free trial period. The one I have is perfect for me though it didn't feel that way for the first few weeks. Worth a look at their web page, it's informative if nothing else. Oh, if they think a different make will suit you better they say so :-)

I have a Hypnose firm mattress which I tried out in a shop then had it custom made to give me firmness of differing types either side of my double bed. I thought like rosewine at first when I needed to replace old mattress but my rubbish back is a lot happier and my sleep quality has improved .

The Original Princess with a bed full of peas here! Can't tell you what to get but....... Not firm, not cheap springing, not thin topping, not shallow mattress, not solid base, not old fashioned memory foam. Mortgage your soul and pay as much as you can then get a quality protector, a top quality sheet, an ultra lightweight but warmish duvet and maybe a ceiling fan. OR get a hammock and stay awake like the rest of us! 🙃
