What about trying a memory form mattress topper they are about £15 on eBay and you can get a half one if its only needed for one side.
I have a cushion? top. It's like an extra mattress (without springs etc) on top which makes the bed very comfortable to sleep on. Memory mattresses wouldn't suit me as I move too much in my sleep.
Before I got my new mattress a few weeks ago, I used to put a cheap15 tog double duvet on top of my mattress to cushion the springs. It was ok but probably not as good as a mattress topper.
Memory foam, memory foam, memory foam is what I advise, I bought a cheap one (peanuts and monkeys !!) but then went for a 10cm topper which is absolutely fab. I would urge a note of caution and that is that most of the toppers come shrink wrapped and rolled, when you open it up the toxic fumes are really unpleasant and I for one would be immediately into migraine mode and I believe it takes several days if not more, to get rid of the smell, and also they don't really return to what should be their true depth. If you are thinking about getting one and would be effected by this, feel free to contact me via messaging and I can point you to the place I found that deliver them flat and for free. (I have no personal interest in this company, but am going only on what I have found myself)
I hope this may help you in some way
Foggy x
Hi a few years ago I got an ERGOFLEX mattress it was recommended for FMS sufferers I found it online. WOW it is really comfortable if you've tried memory foam this is in a different league. It was £800 for a double but I waited for the sales and got it for £400 still expensive but it is a good investment if you can afford it. It is very comfy but I'm afraid nothing stops the pain. I think you can only get ergo flex from their own site just google ergo flex they are really good quick delivery.
Thank you guys I will have to look into a topper I think can not afford a new mattress at the moment x
I can thoroughly recommend a waterlattex (made by Relaxsan) mattress. Latex mattresses are good.
If you go for a topper make sure it is at least 5cm thick, but the thicker the better.
I tried my parents Tempur mattress years ago and found it uncomfortable, probably because of the way I sleep so if you lay on your back alot or move around a great deal you're better off with my kind and not memory foam.
I haven't slept on a sprung mattress in many years and would never go back.
Hope you find something that works for you soon.
