that you are probably entitled to far more than you are claiming including help going to see a film? Read on:

My daughter is training to be a Social Worker and she tells me there is a book in the Library that we can all look at to see the Welfare Benefits we could be entitled to. This includes DLA and if we have that we can have a Blue Badge and a Carers Card for going to some cinemas such as cineworld.co.uk who say:

At Cineworld Cinemas, we are committed to offering maximum accessibility and we strive to provide facilities that meet the requirements of all our customers.

The Cinema Exhibitors' Association Card (CEA card) helps us to ensure that reasonable support is made available to you. If you require a carer, simply apply for your CEA card by picking up an application form from our foyer or from ceacard.co.uk . Your 'CEA card' will entitle your accompanying carer to a free seat. This policy is valid at all times.

So bearing in mind that many of us use a wheelchair and need someone to accompany us, this is very helpful information which I knew nothing about!

Yes I see what you mean. If you can get someone to pop into your local cinema to pick up a leaflet you can apply that way, but go on line and check out your local cinema to see if they take part. I found the details under Access. Otherwise you could try ringing them. Sorry about the link, I copied and pasted the page.

Citizens Advice Bureau are very very good at this, and very helpful. Give them a try. They have an advice line too.
