Hi all, I've only been on this site for a week but haven't introduced myself properly. I have a benign spinal tumour and have developed fibro as a result of this. Fibro causes me to have pain in my neck and shoulders and also my feet. I hope you don't mind me asking but does anyone else find that they can't tolerate noise due to fibro. Also, any advice on how to cope with foot pain. It's so so sore! Thanks in advance for responding x

Noise intolerance
Hello and welcome to our happy little band. Yes I am very noise intolerant at times yet at other times I struggle to hear. That's the problem with fibro it throws so many different symptoms and I doubt there are two people here with exactly the same symptoms and problems as it is so personal to the individual. Some days I can't balance some days I am fine. It's the nature of the beast. Foot pain, I soak in epsom salt baths and have gel inserts in my shoes. Might be worth having your feet and your gait assessed as it is not always down to fibro. Your doctor should be able to refer you if necessary although I know the NHS are strapped for cash and your doctor maybe a little reluctant but worth a try. Take care, I am sure others will be along to give you some advice.
Thanks Dinkie. It's a pleasure being a part of your happy little band 😊. I'm noise intolerant with occasional tinnitus which makes hearing clearly a bit hit and miss at times. It's good to know that I'm not the only one suffering like this. I'll speak to my gp and see what she says. She's a very supportive dr so hopefully she can offer some advice. We tend to discuss my back most of the time as that's what's causing me the most pain at the moment. Thanks again for responding to me. I really do appreciate it.
tinnitus - yep that too. I so often turn the TV off to see whether the noise is coming from there. Given up asking the OH whether he can hear it as I know it's just me.. Don't you just love fibro the condition that just keeps giving
Yes I'm sensitive to noise & light.
It's amazing how fibro affects us all so differently yet there's an element of similarity with some of us.
Yes i cant stand noise xx
It really is unbearable at times isn't it? My neighbour recently had an extension built and the noise from there was horrendous! If I was able to drive despite being on morphine I think I would've just driven off for the 10 hours a day it was going on for lol.
Sunlight and general noise
Definitely agree with the sunlight bit too.
Noise, light and smell are all difficult for me, I have had fibro and chronic migraines for about 18 years now. Have you tried soaking your feet in warm water and Epsom salts or just use in bath, very good for pain. Welcome aboard !
