Me who doesn't go out of a evening, normally in bed 9 latest, has been out two nights on trot! Friday took elderly and lonely group from the wonderful charity I volunteer for to an old time music Hall event, we where supporting Another wonderful charity,The homeless, could not have done it without my afternoon siesta
Saturday, went to work few hours, home lunch siesta and then out for a reunion with company used to work for 10 years ago, was going well to we.moved on to Los Iguanas, loud music, flashing lights, throbbing with bodies dancing, well I am a Dizzy moo anyway, but boy everything was spinning, bade my farewells, got home had forgotten my house keys, told you I was a Dizzy moo, My partner was Djing not far away, went over and we came home together, got into bed at 1.30 and slept till 7 really good for me! Know I have overdone it, will have a rest day after I have cut my everlasting sweet peas down, made a bread pudding and prepared tonight's supper, home made sea food paella, squid Prawns muscles chorizo yummy
I will not give in to my illness, be sensible yes, be aware yes, say no yes. Give in NO

Ha ha you've worn me out just reading your post. I actually cooked a full roast dinner for the first time in months and survived the experience.
Lovely that you are volunteering I bet they enjoyed the show and that it was supporting another charity is a double plus. I think not being in bed until 1.30 would have wiped me out. I only sleep a couple more hours a night but my body needs the rest.
On a serious note if you have any bread pudding left can you teleport it to the west Midlands please it is my favourite.x
No matter how I feeling, it lifts my heart too see our guests, smiling laughing being entertained, having a dance if able making new friends, and a high tea every Sunday, they love it and say it's changed their lives, my answer is its changed mine to, and does me Good

The bread pudding must be flying slowly as it hasn't arrived yet but I swear I smell it coming.
I used to work for a charity for the elderly and getting together makes such a difference to their lives. They used to live to go on one of the barge trios along the river or canal and have fish and chips at the end.
One of the ladies who lived in her own was a marvellous keyboard player so she would often take her keyboard to the day centre and entertain the others. It was a win win situation for everyone.
I would I've to do the a high tea thing where you have them in your home but hubby has cancer at the moment so unfortunately not up to entertaining but it is a thought hopefully for the future. Must go or will be late for my Crime Book club. Husband doesn't like bread pudding so I know it is safe for my return, lol.x

Took a coach load to sea side in summer, 3 course meal, our elderly deserve all this and more. new local Mayor has named it his charity of the year, which is great as spreads awareness, we have lots on waiting list to come, but are struggling with volunteer drivers, it's only 2 years old in this area, and have just launched team 7. Growing fast.

So much funding has been withdrawn. Our local council took about £345,000 from the charity I used to work for and it had to close literally everything it did. A few of the staff members used their redundancy money to start small schemes back up one with exercise and hobby classes and another has started a small day centre😀. The information and advice service is no more they are like the forgotten souls. I have always thought the measure of a country is how they treat their elderly. I rest my case it is a proper lottery for the elderly in what they can get according to where they live😦.x
Hope you make alot of money from the quiz. Glad there are some generous co companies. Tesco once paid my wage for a year and after their manager had visited to hand over the cheque he gave us some more money later in the year as he was impressed at what we were trying to do supposedly they had never done that before. The local supermarket often used to let us bag pack to raise funds all these things help.x

It sounds like a great time was had by all. Would you believe I have not been out one evening after dark in the last 20+ years !! But i do suffer with agoraphobia. I would love an evening down the club and a game of bingo. Oh well never say never maybe one day or should that night lol xx
Made bread pudding, chaos, bag of currents split, as I am clearing them bag of coconut fell over so coconut and currents everywhere, few swear words came out of my mouth. Decided to scoop the whole lot up and put in pudding, it tastes absolutely delicious
Then made a huge ratatouille to freeze in portions, aubergines, peppers, courgettes, onions, mushrooms, celery, tomatoes herbs and garlic nice and healthy
Just eaten a seafood paella, squid prawns muscles and chorizo, yummy yummy yum
And yes I had a two hour siesta somewhere in the middle
