Hi everyone, I promised my 5 yr old we would go the cinema today. So now I am sitting here washed and dressed, exhausted and in pain waiting for meds to kick in so I can take him ( movie starts at 10:40) Is anyone else managing Fibro and young children any coping techniques shared would be greatly appreciated 😊 xx
Cinema trip: Hi everyone, I promised my... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Cinema trip
Just to say I don't envy you. Hope you both enjoy the cinema. I am just off the an event we have organised at our local small library. 20 children (hopefully) are coming to see a selection of small animals and reptiles brought in by our local Zoo. They loved it last time but I had to give first aid to a Gran who had a rat phobia as she literally passed out and was hyperventilating. We are doing refreshments so alot of standing killed me last time good for nothing for days but the expressions in the children's faces was worth it.x
Hi I ended up having to be brought home as I couldn't walk stably after leaving the cinema. My Dr asked do I think the pregabalin is causing the fatigue. I'm thinking how should I know. Frustrated and confused. Had a lovely time watching the movie but paying the price now. At least my son has enjoyed himself. X
Glad you enjoyed yourself. The last time we went to the cinema I honestly don't know how I made it back to the car. How long have you been on Pregablin I know that the first few weeks I could barely get out of the chair as I was so shattered and felt really lethargic for several weeks afterwards even though I had been started on a low dose. Fortunately this gradually started to get better.x
I weaned off the pregabalin as it made me drowsy, I put on weight, my ankles were swollen etc. It took me from July to march to come off of it but I'm glad I did. I had to wean myself as drs were clueless. Xxx
Luckily I have not been on it long so Dr said I can come off it. She dropped me to 1 a day and I can feel a huge difference already. What do you use for pain relief?
I was put on 600mgs a day from 250mgs so it was a huge leap. I tried cold turkey to come off it but it was awful, it's supposed to be worse than coming off of heroin but I've never been into illegal drugs so I don't know whether that's true. I watched a programme on bbc3, drugs map of Britain, and northern Ireland has a terrible problem with pregabalin being sold to addicts on the streets, it's quite sought after.
I'm just on 30\500 cocodamol and naproxen, I've tried tramadol and others like it but nowt works really. I was asking Lolacat about oramorph and whether it's any good for fibromyalgia.
Good luck with the pregabalin xxx
I have a working diagnosis of M.E/Fibro and I have two young children (one under 10 and one under 5).
They are both at Home during the day over the summer.
I don't have much advice, except to say that kids are very adaptable and mine have learnt to appreciate the little things I am able to do.
