Feeling scared

Today I'm weaning off my gabapentin after being sick last night because I feel drunk all the time and am tea total lol so here I go just scared about the extra pain it will cause as I decrease them can anyone make any suggestions re pain relief

How long have you been on gabapentin for? Are you doing this with doctors help? Do you take anything else? Sorry for all the questions xxx

I have cocodermol I take 1 tablet but it does help a very tight you bit

I only started gabapentin in may after my husband had heart attack and have disabled son to look after xx

Sorry to hear you are so unwell.

Perhaps a telephone consultation with your doctor would be useful so that you can discuss pain relief.

Some members swear by Gabapentin and others are like you and hate the side effects.

I do suggest though that you come off them gradually to reduce any withdrawal problems.

I understand feeling scared hope you mite have caught up with ur doctors surgery they should book you a telephone slot to speak to your doctor or at least someone on duty what dose was you on ? I came off this week when I went to increase dose one day felt like I was drunk never got past the 600mg in the end side effects I didn't like are they weaning you off them gradually my doc this week offered me codiene I'm yet to get it when I've taken it before it made me feel sick has your doctor put in place what he is going to try you on once you've come off gapapentin let me know how you get on I asked for some anti sickness pills that I have one occasionally they seem to work don't feel your on your own I hate the thought of being sick bit of a phobia of mine xx

I have cocodermol which I had in draw but think I'll speak to doc as I get less gabapentin lowered as I am 1 tablet a day the pain is like thunder going through my whole body ahhhhhh xxxxxx

Stil awake at 145am have stopped gapapentin 600mg Wednesday picked up my codiene today but chemist said be careful only take when you need it( coming across like it's addictive) so still haven't started it, pain a lot worse we both seem to be havin same effect can't describe it feels like I've done weight lifting in a gym for 24 hrs little fed up now x

It can be addictive but I've been taking it on and off and I'm OK it helps a little the pain is like my body is having an earthquake and never goes away so horrid but I'm purser verging take care and take co codermol it will help xxxxx
