Inherited fibromyalgia
Yes my eldest son since September last year he has app next week with rhyemy I'm gutted as well as I no what the pain is like just feel so sorry for him.
Hi fibro10 I am sure that it is not hereditary if that is what you mean how are you to blame
Many things happen in life but w.e always seem to blame ourselves. I think this is more to do with accepting that our family has it to. Then we would not blame ourselves as much but i think we all do it. Please be kind to yourself and realise it is not about blame just learning to accept that it is happening.
Hugs
Thank you for your reply it hard when you no how much pain their in xx

Hi I'm the only one! (sound like Ti...double g .....er!)
Rather than it being hereditary, the common consensus seems to be that it can be diagnosed in families due to a genetic predisposition. Therefore meaning the it may be more likely due to genes and diagnosed if there is a trigger.
Sorry to hear both your daughters have been diagnosed recently - if you need to talk we are here to listen.
Please do not blame yourself x
Emma
Hi Mdaisy yes that is what I meant genetic just could not think of the word But thank you xx
Hi Fibro10
Thank You for your reply - I hope it makes sense it is not genetic in the sense it is hereditary. You have a genetic predisposition meaning you may or may not get Fibromyalgia depending on whether you encounter a trigger ie virus, whiplash, trauma (all things we as Mothers cannot control)
For instance: 2 people in the same family may have the genetic predisposition, both may get a virus however only one may still go on to develop Fibromyalgia. Just because you have the genetic predisposition doesn't mean you will necessarily develop Fibro
It's hard to explain as nobody really knows why some people in the family develop Fibro and others don't, as the cause or trigger of Fibro can be so many different things that we cannot control (accidents, viruses, whiplash, trauma etc)
I hope I have explained this OK - it's not your fault so please don't blame yourself. x
Emma
Ive had fibro diagnosed 2014 (osteoarthritis since 2010) and didn't know of anyone else in my family with it until my younger cousin has just been diagnosed a few months ago. Both our Mums passed away in their early sixties and as far as we know they didn't have fibro. The only connection we can make is we have both had a hysterectomy aged 39 and both had depression and enormous amounts of stress and a trauma of losing a parent suddenly. I also believe we both have hormone problems. Neither of my children or my cousins children have fibro but there are mental health issues in my family which seem to go back several generations. When my son started with depression I thought it was my fault so I do understand that as a parent we hate to see our loved ones suffer and blame ourselves.
Don't blame yourself as there could be any number of reasons for fibro to start not necessarily genetics. No one knows.

Hi my friend
I am so genuinely sorry to read this and the *US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health says:
*The exposure of a genetically predisposed individual to a host of environmental stressors is presumed to lead to the development of FMS. Fibromyalgia overlaps with several related syndromes, collectively compromising the spectrum of the functional somatic disorder. FMS is characterized by a strong familial aggregation.
I want to sincerely wish you and your daughters all the best of luck and please take care of yourselves my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
You absolutely are NOT to blame. My mom feels the same way, as she and i both have it and she says she feels soo horrible for doing that to me. What? Other than give me life, she had no control over what genres or traits or what ever i got.
Also i have kids, i have AMAZING children. Should i have not? No.
What i am doing is teaching them all the ways i have maintained myself. They know mommy has sore muscles and i will feel bad of course if they do end up with it. But honestly i wouldn't want to live in a world with the alternative.
Don't feel guilty. You have no reason to. You didn't choose it. Hell most of us didn't even really have issues till after children, so we didn't even understand what we could've been passing down. My point is please don't feel guilty. It helps noone and only makes you feel worse and possibly cause a flare.
Love yourself and take care of yourself

I agree with Mdaisy. Both my son and daughter are showing signs and experiencing symptoms of Fibro, although neither are yet diagnosed.
My son has been showing signs of fibro for the last 12 years or more. He refuses to go to the doctor. Pretty sure my mum had it before she died.
Hi, you are not to blame, I also have HMS as does my 15 Year old daughter as well as fibro and something else going on but as of yet no diagnosis. There seems to be a cluster of people where I stay and I am currently (slowly) doing some research into environmental factors, earth's magnetic pull etc. We all flare up at the same time which is very strange, anyone else observed this? Xx
That is very interesting, please share any info you find.
I don't live near anyone to compare myself too.
But i have found relief by going a natural anti-inflammatory route and also taking vitamins minerals that are essential to cell function which includes cell cleaning.
I know toxins is a taboo word in some circles but whatever. When i stop my herbs etc, i don't fall that hard. Meaning i don't relapse back to being couch bound and in global unbearable pain. So whatever i have done it isn't momentarily helping it is actually helping.
So my point to this is, maybe there could be something environmental that is exacerbating everything for yall.
What about sun? I do find it helps but i also mentally benefit so it's hard to say it is just vitamin d that is helping.
Stretching really helps me
massage(painful but helps)
It would be so cool to get a cluster of us together and see how different our reactions are to different remedies.
As a lot of us have multiple issues that would make it tricky, but if we could find enough with simular issues then that would work.
This website is the closest thing i have to that.
Well i have a familymember with fibro but she won't try anything i suggest, even though she asks me for the advice, she thanks me for info then after few months does it again. Drives me mad, but i don't let her know it does.
Good luck on your research×××
Thank you everyone for your reply xxx
