Hello dawn51 and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get advice, support, help and understanding. Our mother site fmauk.org has a wealth of information including guides and links.

Traumatic events often are a trigger for fibro and symptoms can develop over time. Do you have a diagnosis? If not then I suggest you change your GP to one who is willing to test and treat you and help relieve your pain.

If your GP is the one who diagnosed you, you could ask for a referral to a rheumatologist and/or a Pain Clinic, it is not right that you are struggling on your own.

There are plenty of people here who are supportive and suffering too, you are not alone here.

Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

Take care

Kay

Thanks Kay. My GP has not been much help. I'm exhausted and just want to cry and sleep

It's a good idea to lock your posts to the community, so it's not open to the internet. If you look to right of screen you will see under "Pinned Posts" a link to simple instructions on how to lock it.

Sorry to hear you are struggling to cope.

Have you tried heat? Electric Heat pads, deep heat and Linnex heat stick are a great help. Linnex is available on the internet and is my best friend! The heat is very intense so use only a tiny amount to begin with (just one swipe on one area) and build up, according to tolerance. It is expensive but lasts ages.

Have you tried massage, osteopath, chiropractor or acupuncture? All of these can be helpful.

I hope you find some relief.

God bless.

I have been going for a massage weekly which helps a little. I have thought of looking at acupuncture but not sure if it's benefits

Definitely worth a try, you will know after first session if it will help. Also stretches and gentle targeted exercise helps. Ideally see if your gp will refer you to physio for advice on this.

Hi dawn51

I am so genuinely sorry to read of your suffering and struggling my friend and I sincerely hope that you can find some relief to this. If you have a ''walk-centre'' local to yourself, you oculd always present there and explain what is happening for you? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you
