Does anyone know if I can change my house number to a name? My house number is 13 and a lot off people don't like the number 13 as they think it's unlucky. It never bothered me when I brought the house π‘ and to be honest it has been very lucky for me. Since living here I achieved so many of my goals and have been very very lucky.
So when I come to selling people won't have the problem with the number π€π€π€π€π€

Keep it as the number as some people don't like house nAmes either
If they don't like the number 13 when they come don't worry about it
Just throw a black cat and have a ladder hidden outside above front door as they leave and then wave at them as you open an umbrella indoors while dancing on a smashed mirror π
Hi, I think you might need to contact your county council re this, I know you can name your house but usually numbers are kept as well.
I'm like you, we lived and brought up our children at number 13. In fact I'm a little disappointed we moved into a number 20. My husband was born on the 13th. It's a lucky number for us and I'm amazed how often it crops up in our day to day lives. When shown to a table or given a room when travelling we often get number 13. But, I can understand it might affect your house sale though it didn't seem to have an affect when we sold ours.
When I brought the house the people before seemed to have some trouble in selling it. Where we live the House's sell very quickly and this house was on the market for a while and that is very rare here. The house is really lovely 4 bed detached house in a nice area.
I will give the council a call to see what I can do. Thank you for the advice. I truly hope that you are feeling as well as you can be. Take good care of yourself. π€π€π€πΉπ·πΊπΈxxx
Royal Mail are the people to contact as far as I know. Addressing it to the ones that deliver in your County. I suppose you would address it to the main sorting office nearest to you in the county where you live. I'm not totally sure.
Thank you for your advice. I will also contact Royal Mail and see what they can do to help me. Hope that your having a good weekend take good care of yourself. π€π€πΈπΉπ·πΊxxx
Like you I am not superstitious either and number 13 had been very good for me. It's just that I was thinking when I come to selling the house as I know the people before me had problems because of the number and I think that it ridiculous that people can be put off by a number especially when it is a lovely house π‘.
You are really lucky to live in Cyprus I have been there a few times and my son and his son lives there as well.
Also congratulations on your marriage I know it's a bit late but just seen the date. π€π€πΉπΊπ·πΈxxx
In a way it was lucky for us as we decided in the January to get married in September and thought we would not get a venue on a Saturday. Because it was the 13th all the venues we looked at were free! The organisers said that people were reluctant to marry on the 13th, in fact the previous year, 2013, had been very poor for weddings!
Some suggestions for your house name might be Dekatreis, Tridecagon, X111 or Treize all meaning thirteen in other languages and not to display the digits 13. That way you are not feeling obliged to find a name. (Tongue in cheek!)
Thanks Margaret very good idea. It was great that you had plenty off choice. Like you I like 13 is very lucky for me. Thank you once again. Take good care of yourself. Jan π€π€πΈπΊπΉπ·xxx
Strangely I love the number 13. I can remember when my Mom died and I had to arrange the funeral. The undertaker said she can either be buried in Friday 13 or I otherwise I am afraid the crem is booked for weeks ahead apart from that date. Supposedly people didnt want their relatives buried on Friday 13th.x
Ah how lovely that is absolutely fantastic she would of been very proud of you and you never put superstition before your mum. That has really touched my heart β€οΈ. Bless you hun.
13 has always been very lucky for me. I have heard some really stupid stories about the number 13.
But if some people could hear themselves and how ridiculous they sound it's absolutely laughable.
Good on you hun I won't ever forget that and it's very likely that I will now tell people about the number 13 πππππ take good care of yourself ππ
This is very interesting and I have looked on the Sunday Times who say:
*If you have a house number, then it is more restrictive. Numbers cannot be changed or deleted, although you may add a name to the existing street number without getting permission. To change a house name you need to apply to your local council, who might charge an administration fee.
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
I was born just after midnight Friday 13th (Not happy enough with Friday the 13th. You had to be born in the witching hour. My Grandmother told me as often as she could)
For me 13 has always been lucky. I'd say don't worry about changing the house number, change the buyer. They are the unlucky ones who can't see beyond the missguided superstition that 13 is unlucky.
It seems to me that it has been a lucky home for you. And that is what matters ... It's a HOME .. not just a house number.
Hope today finds you a little better than yesterday.
Yes the number 13 has been lucky to me since I moved into this house π‘. When I moved in, this is all I could afford and was lucky to get a 4 bed detached house.
The only thing that got me thinking was the people before and how long it took for them to sell the house. It is a beautiful house I have spent thousands doing it up to the way that suits the house.. inside and out. I feel I am a very lucky lady to have this house. I was on my own with my only son when I brought this house and since the day I moved in I have been very lucky to achieve most of my goals. I have also brought another 4 houses that I rent out so I truly count my blessings.
So you see the number 13 has been very lucky for me in so many different ways.ππππ
I truly hope that you are feeling as well as you can be. Take good care of yourself. Jan π€π€πΊπΈπΉπ·xxx
I am really pleased for you. It's always lovely to hear that people are responding well. Hope it continues for you. Take good care of yourself. π€π€π€πΉπΊπΈπ·xxx
Even if you have no number it still shows up in land deeds/mailing etc as where i live has 16 but that isn't there at all but would have been in the road before the Gerrie's left a large parcel on the roof in the war!. we have our flat numbers but 16 still shows up in the road name on a search.
The witches Cauldron @ 13.
Hells Corner 13
Spell bound @13
I was only thinking about that the other day. I don't know if you can legally though x
I believe that you can. If you read Kens reply to me and some off the others apparently you can do it. Hope that you had a lovely weekend. Take care. Jan π€π€π€πΉπ·πΊπΈxxx
