Hi everyone, after my last post about seeing my gp due to fatigue getting worse, I went for a blood test. I had a phone call last night about 7.30pm from my gp and he said he had some results back from the blood test. I have a B12 deficiency and I have to go for some injections starting today. This was completely out of the blue and the gp was the last person I was expecting to call. He is very good.
This will explain the fatigue and other symptoms. Has anyone else had these injections. Are there any side effects. I will be pleased if they work but wont expect miracles. At least I wasnt making a fuss over nothing when I was saying I am very tired all the time.
I will let you know how I get on. It just shows that we should see our gp if there is anything we arent sure about. We cant keep saying it is just our fibro.
Hope everyone has a good day. Dont get too hot and bothered. Stay in the shade.
David

Hey! I have celiac amongst other conditions and regularly have b12 injections. I noticed a huge difference in my energy levels and general mood straight away 😊. Good luck! Keep us posted on how you go with them eh?
Hi there good news they've found out a cause for the fatigue or part of the cause. B12 deficiency will leave you feeling quite unwell and you should notice a big difference with the injections. I suggest you check out the B12 health unlocked forum PAS - stands for pernicious anaemia scociety - and also b12 deficiency websites for more information. Also there's some good books on the subject by Martin Hooper and also Stuart Pacholok. Has GP investigated cause of deficiency? He should look at testing for intrinsic factor antibodies to see if deficiency is caused by autoimmune pernicious anaemia. If so you will need injections for life. A lot of people also eventually self inject as I do. It's easy cheap and less fuss than going to GP. I hope you start to see improvement of your symptoms soon.
Hi everyone, wow thanks for the messages. Just back from doctors. I had the first injection an hour ago and I already feel a difference. It may be just the feeling of releif that something is being done and that I wasnt making a fuss when I kept saying that I am tired.
I have to have the first six injections every two days, so I am going back on Friday. Good job the doctors is just down the road.
I will keep you informed about the progress but I recommend others talk to their gp about B12 defeciency (if you havent already)
Hello David, I to have a b12 deficiency I inj it myself once a week for four weeks then dr. Will take bloods to see if I will only need it monthly. I do it my self as dr. Office is 45 min drive and always long wait in waiting room.i take iron and vit d too. I can't say I have any side effects from the b12 but I do with iron tabs. Keep cool😀. Chris.
I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are B12 deficient and although I have never had these injections myself I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
I glad to hear that you found out the problem and it's not the Fibro.
I have not had the injections myself but my Neice has and she loves getting them because she feels so well afterwards and has lots of energy. I truly hope that they work for you in the same way. Fingers crossed 🤞
Please let us know how you get on with your injections. Take good care of yourself hun. 🤗🤗🤗🌹🌷🌸🌺xxxx
