I have been taking my Amitriptalyne for months now and everything has been great but over the last couple of days signs have been coming back like I tried to put my cup of coffee in the fridge instead of the milk I am so lethargic always wanting to go to sleep, I have been getting the pains shooting down my leg again and all the joints are starting to hurt. Why now???

Hi, no its not just you, I have been on amitryptiline for about 18 months now and I also get very lethargic and confused like you. I saw my gp last week as I get very tired and sweat more than normal. He said it is probably the fibro but could be side effects of the meds.

This is horrible. It is so hot which doesn't help. We aren't alone.

Take care

The heat and humidity ALWAYS exacerbates my symptoms

I feel like this too on amitryptiline. I was ok on a low dose and i have been on a higher dose for 2 month and the tiredness and confusion is awful.

I am hoping it passes

take care

Good morning Pfoster,

It may not be the medication. We all suffer some degree of "fibro fog" and/or mental confusion. It's just another symptom to add to the way-too-long list of symptoms. I have days when I cannot keep my train of thought long enough to have a decent conversation. I have done this while speaking with my GP, which is actually a good thing, he gets to see fibromyalgia up close and personal.

Don't worry too much about it, you can talk to your Dr. and see if he/she thinks you need to adjust medication. But I would chalk it up to another symptom of this dreadful disease. [this is my non-medical professional opinion]

Hi Pfoster it could possibly be you are having a few fibro fog moments my friend, check the nhs link out google.co.uk/url?sa=t&sourc...

Amitriptyline is commonly prescribed to help fibro symptoms, they are very good to help relax you to help muscle spasms, sleep & your mood, as it can be very depressing when you are in constant pain. I have been taking them for yrs now. It's best to take them early evening because they have time to wear off the next day. I take mine about 7pm.

Hi Pfoster

I am so genuinely sorry to read this my friend, and I would talk to your doctor about what is happening for you. It could be as all of your other respondents have said Fibro raring up, the heat, or foggy moments or all of them? It could be that your medication could do with a tweak? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
