Hi

I do have allergies to things. One reaction to some of the meds I tried was itching everywhere, even my eyes.

Have you tried Antihistamine?

I take it you've not tried new soap, washing powder etc!

If it doesn't stop I'd see your GP.

Take care.

I get itching and that horrible crawling feeling. I have been using Cetirizine the non drowsy hay fever medication. I try to moisturise daily as skin gets drier with age and find the one you use in the shower is great.

Yes I have and I spoke to my GP about it - she agreed that antihistamines would not work as it was not an allergy but the nerve ends playing up. I sometimes also have a burning sensation all over my skin too. There is never any rash or redness of the skin.

I have been given Lyrica (Pregabalin) to try starting with a low dose of 25mg (I was initially given 150mg to take at night which knocked me out!) and will build up if necessary. The 150 mg dose definitely worked and helped with sleep and pain but obviously too high.

I plan to take these in the next couple of weeks after my holiday as I don't want to risk being doped up when I am away.

Hope this helps.

with kind regards.

Jane

I'm interested in any replies to your post. I have had a horrible time lately with inflammed itchy skin. I take a prescribed anti histamine but I have been so desperate that I added an otc one too. I have eczema. I hate the mess I get in to when scratching my already scarred skin.

Hi kaydem30

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you suffer with this horrid issue also, and I have two different creams from my doctor for the itching. It is different for me on different parts of the body. One is just a general itch that I could scratch until it bleeds but the other gives me a kind of rash (hence the two creams).

If this issue persists or gets any worse I would talk to your doctor about it just to get other medical conditions ruled out of the equation. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

hi i used to get it a lot i think is meds related than fibro i have had to change various meds for different ones. being on several types for different illnesses it hard to narrow down which ones cause it. well good luck i hope you sought it out maco100

there was a piece on the radio today about "unusual neurological itch" It didn't specify fibro but some of what it said rang bells. Might be worth a listen.
