Questions - need help

Hello, I'm in pain all of the time and have trouble sleeping. I'm not currently diagnosed with the condition but the doctors in work seem to think it's what I definitely have as well as my therapist who also has Fibro.

I have been like this for over a year now and wanted to know does anyone else experience shakes/tremors? My legs go from underneath now and again when I get them.

I'm also taking a concoction of tablets (Tramadol, Neurotin, co-codamol, arcoxia and something to help my stomach for the tablets.) I've currently come down with a head cold and on top of the pain i'm aching from head to toe, my head is sore etc. Is there anything I can take to get rid of this cold?

Sorry to be a nag, just fed up now :(

Hi CushMonkey

Welcome to the forum, and I genuinely hope that you find it useful, informative and loads of fun! I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FibroAction which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

FibroAction Website:

I am so sorry to read that you have been suffering for over a year and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your pain issues. Neurotin is more commonly known as Gabapentin in the UK, and it carries a great deal of side effects, which include most of the things that you have mentioned in your post I am sorry to say. I have pasted you the NHS Choices cache to Gabapentin side effects below:

There are other medications that you could discuss with your GP or Medical Specialist, and there are plenty that you could try? Arcoxia is more commonly known as a NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug) and it is usually used to treat arthritis. If you ever suffer with breathing issues after using this, it is important that you notify your Medical Practitioner and seek medical attention.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and I genuinely hope that you find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi CushMonkey,

You had me with the Fibro until you mentioned your legs giving way under you. That's a major worry.

My immediate response is that you take time off and see your GP as soon as possible. Ask for a referral to a Rheumatologist and take it from there.

I was also diagnosed with Fibro four years ago but kept complaining about my legs giving way under me. I was eventually given an Lumbar Spine MRI and discovered that I had Spinal Stenosis in two areas, a herniated disc that's pressing on my nerve root endings, bones spurs and growth that are also impinging on my nerves. I also have a problem with my sacraiioc joints.

I am also now being checked for MS so please, please, don't just go with what you've been told thus far and what you suspect. You've lived in your body longer than anybody so only you really know how 'off' you're feeling and instinctively know when something's wrong.

I hope you get it sorted soon. Let us know how you get on.

All the very best

For a head cold you need a decongestant, like otravine you buy it anywhere on the shelf even the supermarket. Helped me loads I've enough to deal with without a stuffy head too. Magic stuff

Hi guys thank you so much, this really helps. The pressure in my head this morning feels much worse but a pancake and vitamin drink to start me off might help 👍

Reykua - I have had an mri on my skeletal spine but I am unsure if they have done one on my lumbar. Thank you very much as my father suffers with the tremors and his legs go from under him to. I am returning to the doctors myself soon will keep you all updated.

Thank you, I hope you are all feeling good today ❤️

not much can be done for the cold, and fibro will make it feel worse so treat it properly. keep warm, rest, take non alcoholic fluids. hugs :)
