Hello allieTP

I just wanted to wish you a warm welcome to the forum :)

There are a few different things that I have found have helped me a little over the last 30 odd years I've had Fibro.

Epsom Salts in a bath do relax the muscles.

Also, have you tried Magnesium Oil spray? I am in severe pain 24/7 and have found that this spray does take the edge off the pain for a while.

Also Deep Freeze sprays, patches and gels can be very helpful.

I appreciate that you are actually asking about alternative therapies such as acupuncture etc but I haven't found that any of these things have helped with my pain and depression.

The thing with Fibro is that what regime works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another, so unfortunately it is a matter of trial and error until you find what works for you personally.

Have you been referred to a Pain Clinic? If not, that is something you could raise with your GP.

Once again, a very warm welcome and I look forward to chatting to you again.

Hello Allie and welcome!

I find that reflexology helps me, it helps relieve stress. I also found that hydrotherapy was beneficial. But I found acupuncture made me feel awful. However everybody seems to react differently. Have you asked your doctor about a pain management program or the Pain clinic? Xxx

I did ask my doctor for a referral to pain clinic but she said there wasn't much more they could do for my pain I think I will change doctor as each time I go she keeps changing my meds & my body dosent known what's happening 😡 I have read of the hydrotherapy must check it out , thanks for your reply

Hi allieTP

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance.

I have tried acupuncture but it increased my pain. However, I now use a TENS Machine which I find helps me a great deal.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Good luck my friend.

Hello Alli- Yes I have had acupuncture in various places for fibro OA and calcium crystal deposit pain, you do need to go for 6 full sessions ans some NHS Physios offer this service, you might need to go out of Town for it but I would recommend it, as for your endo, we have another site on the forum if you havnt already joined, lots of ladies to help just use My Communties at top of page and its in the drop down.. Good luck- don't go to "High St Quaks" for treatment.

Thanks for your advice, what is the calcium crystals? Yea that's what I was worried about having to have so many sessions that are expensive & with being off sick I certainly wouldn't be able to afford it thanks again hope your having a pain free day x
