It started about a year or so ago where i used to get pains in my feet at night and had to rub/massage them i couldnt sleep with it im a type 2 diabetic which is well controlled and lately its got worse still in my feet now legs to the knee`s wrist and sharp throbbing stabbing pains in my toes ect....my muscles on my legs constantly ache if i try and rub them its like running a razor over them same as my feet, pins and needles with numbness on the top of the foot.....finally managed to get in the doctors in the morning but just wondered if any one else suffers or had this and knows what it is ect lack of sleep does strange things lol.

Hi carpguy

I think you would be best speaking to your GP just to be sure I have this all the time and mostly I am told it is my fibro.

I too am a type 2 diabetic so it is always better to get it checked just to be sure.

Hi carguy

Welcome to the forum

As you are newly diagnosed my best personal advice to you would be to take some time out (in your head) to try to come to terms with having a long term condition.

Acceptance can be incredibly hard.

Learn as much as you possibly can about Fibro. If you have a look at our mother site you'll find lots of information about Fibro on there

fmauk.org

We do recommend that you lock your posts. I will pop back and give you a link to an easy to follow guide on how to lock your posts.

We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing bunch of people on the forum. Ask anything you want to and we will do our best to help and support you.

Please let me know if you need any help navigating the forum.

Wishing you much peace

Hi Carpguy,

The symptoms sound strangely like Restless Leg Syndrome, however as you are Diabetic I would definitely mention to your GP who is best to diagnose.

For information only - here's a link to RLS on NHS Choices

nhs.uk/Conditions/Restless-...

Old wives tale if you do get a diagnosis of RLS is to put a scented bar of soap under the sheet at the foot of the bed - apparently helps some people !!!!

All the best

Emma :)

Hi carpguy

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance.

I am so genuinely sorry to read of the issue that you have with your feet my friend. I am a type 1 diabetic and I have a similar problem. As Mdaisy says it could be Restless Leg Syndrome? However, with you being a diabetic it would be prudent to talk to your doctor about this in case you have any nerve damage.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi carpguy

I get this type of burning pain in my feet, especially my heels. I use magnesium oil on the skin and Epsom salts in the bath 2-3 times a week and never have any more symptoms. It might work for u. Anything is worth a try with that type of pain. Also make sure you get a good vitamin d inside you. All the best, Sarah xx
