Hi Aussie here I'm new I have fibromyalgia Iv had it for 17 years I'm on every medication under the sun. I'm going on Thursday to see about alternative therapy. My gripe tonight is I can't sleep yet again for the pains in my legs and I was just reading about compression socks I was going to buy them and give them a go.

Hi Ausie

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted for you below a link to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

I am so truly sorry to read that you are having sleep issues, and I sincerely hope that you manage to get some sleep tonight my friend. I have pasted you a link below to the NHS Choices cache on compression socks:

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi Aussie, I posted last night that my sleeping was improving but the last few hours have blown that out of the water. If there's one thing that you can rely on fibro for it's unpredictability.

Compression socks dont aid sleep but do releave preassure in your legs and feet. Which should reeave you some of your pain. I import a medicine call zzzqil from America and thats gd for sleep with no nasty side effects. Basically a very very strong anti histermine. Im like you cant sleep and take 30 odd tabs a day. To get a good nigjt sleep you need to get to a stage level 3 and 4, people like us cant get past level one so us going to bed when we finally get of is like having a cat nap why we wake up next mirning so groggy and refreshed. The issue is are brains dont shut down when its time to go sleep like a hamster in a wheel roind and round and round. Why some many of us use sleep aids to get sleep. Not thougjt if trying to have injectilns into your back it disables the nerve ends and might ir.might help to releave some of the pain youre in. Only downside is has to be done every 3 months but it might help to stop sending pain messages roind your body. Doesent work for everyone so bare that in mind.
