Hi, I am discovering that I am having a few falls, I seem to loose conscious for a few seconds then I am discovered on the floor, today I bit through my lip and banged my head on the dish washer, I have been told that having fibromyalgia is possible why I am fallen.it seems to happen when I get of a seat or I am bending down then stand up again.

Best person to ask is your GP.

As it's happening when you move from seated or bending down to standing then it's likely related to your blood pressure not adjusting as quickly as it needs to. There can be underlying cause so it is worth getting it checked out. Two things that can help are keeping well hydrated and when you do stand up try to do it slowly. If you've been lying down sit for a while to adjust before you try to stand. If you get any warning that it's about to happen lay down as quickly as possible. I used to be embarrassed and try to fight it but I've ended up in the back of too many ambulances and decided it's better to lay down even if it is in the street or the supermarket. This usually prevents the faint and I can then explain to people that the feeling will pass.

I agree hun, blood pressure checked a.s.a.p., are you on amitrip, pregab or gabapent?? these can cause this side effect> get a home visit from docky quack today.. good luck hope it subsides.

Hi Huskywomen

I really am so genuinely sorry to read that you are experiencing this issue, and I have pasted you an excerpt form *Wikkipedia on Orthostatic (postural) hypotensive faints below:

*Blood pressure. Orthostatic (postural) hypotensive faints are as common or perhaps even more common than vasovagal syncope. Orthostatic faints are most often associated with movement from lying or sitting to a standing position, standing up too quickly, or being in a very hot room.

If your GP is not listening to you about this issue, I would be tempted to go along to your local ''walk-in centre'' and let them know what is happening for you? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
