Hi Hidden
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I have a memory mattress with an electric adjustable bed and I find them absolutely wonderful to use. I personally would never go back to anything else. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
I just bought a memory foam topper. This helped enormously. I don't feel any ridges etc now
I have a memory foam mattress and I am happy with it👍 but I need a lot of pillows to help make me comfortable to😃. Chris
What about the toxic chemicals that are used in memory foam, is anybody affected by the smell or otherwise?
Hi sally_11. I used to suffer terribly from neck and back pain. I now have a memory foam mattress, it has helped considerably!!! I no longer wake up with a stiff neck.
Hiya, I bought a memory foam mattress thinking it would help but in my case it didn't. Although it was comfortable with no ridges, springs etc, I found that I just couldn't move or turn in bed. I have trouble turning in bed anyway due to pain, mostly my hips and back so I ended up stuck in one position all night like a beached whale, not good lol. Mine was a firm memory foam too. My partner has a soft memory foam mattress and when I've stayed there that's even worse for me. I've now got a firm sprung mattress and it's better, still get pain but I'm not stuck in the mattress lol.
That's just my experience though. I'd suggest trying a memory foam topper or maybe staying somewhere with a memory foam mattress before you spend on one that may not suit xx
Memory foam for me....it's the best but we all differ....what might suit one doesn't always suit another....x
I tried a Memory Foam Mattress Topper for starters, as I didn't want to spend a large amount of money & it be no good for me... It is marvelous! It doesn't get rid of my pain but it does take the pressure off my joints, sore aching muscles & my back & neck have been a little better. My actual mattress is a sprung orthopedic mattress with a thick built in 'topper' but still wasn't enough - even resting my heel, elbows, shoulders & hips on it was excruciating!
I too can't feel any 'ridges' etc because even a crease in the covers can cause terrible pain.
My only 'bug-bare' with it is that I can get quite hot but there are 'cool' toppers you can buy but are more expensive. As for 'turning over', for me it really doesn't matter which mattress or surface I would sleep on because turning at night is always painful & wakes me whatever!
I am grateful for even just the most minuscule of improvements, so my advice would be to get a topper & try it.. It may not suit everyone but I am very happy I did...

I have one of the "cool" memory foam toppers and yes paid extra for it. Its brill and never problem with too hot: even with perimenopausal hot flushes. I also had back problems with back seizing up each night. But now i can sleep on back all night: a necessity when you face is burning with repeated hot flushes!
I must say the initial smell was vile, in fact my friend who bought one that was under guarantee had to return hers as the smell just didn't seem to go but mine did get much better and after about 6 weeks it was unnoticeable. Lovely in winter as it warms up very quickly but unfortunately in summer it is very warm and I end up lying on top of the duvet because of this. I am soon to replace my bed and to be honest am a bit undecided what to do. They can be very expensive so if your own mattress is still quite young it could perhaps be a good move to get a memory foam topper to try out first and if you do opt for a memory foam mattress you will then have an extra level of comfort.x
What do you mean a smell why is there a smell?
