Hi Sweetie70 welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.

It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are.

It must be a nightmare for you with OCD, my daughter is a bit like you & just can't sit down until she finishes something, by then she's will be in agony. Can I as you what medication you take, it's just that maybe something to help you relax may help. Have you spoken to your doctor about how difficult you find coping with pacing yourself & your OCD

Please do go look at the mother site where you will find all the information you need and lots of useful links on Fibro and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.

Hi sweetie 70.Boy ,do I ever understand.I have been diagnosed with fibro for over 15 yrs ,and aprox 10 yrs with OCD.It`s the shere frustration when I`m so tired I can`t do the things I took for granted before FMS..I too have to clear/clean up as soon as I spot dust!! Vacuuming causes such awful back/joint pain ,and ,when I shower after a cleaning "frenzy" I'm left totally shattered.*hugs*...Maybe try a little every day?.I find if I can do that ,I don't get as worked up?xx

Hi sweetie. I had quite severe OCD with cleaning and germs since I was about 17, in 35 now. To the point I wouldn't sleep in my bed cause I didn't want to mess it up. The last year I can honestly say my fibro tiredness has gotten so bad I now am cured of OCD. I just sit here and look at my bombshell of a house and wished I still had the strength to live in an immaculate haven I always had done. X

Hi Sweetie70

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I can truly imagine the dilemma of these two very conflicting conditions.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

I'm wondering if you take hydrocodone? That causes my skin to itch at times. I also have terrible eczema which I partially a tribute to FM. I use a little hydrocortisone at times which helps some. My dermatologist also advised me to use Vaseline as a moisturizer. Helps a lot.

I also have OCD but not the cleaning kind LOL.

Ive been on lexapro for OCD for a while now. It gave me my life back. For me it's a miracle drug as far as OCD and anxiety. I couldn't even ride or drive cars before I started taking it.

I hope that helps some sweetie. You are definitely not alone :-). We can get through this

Hello shep62. Is there another name for Lexapro plz. I also have developed eczema and itching. I take a lot of pills but mst and oramorph is strongest. Could not get on with pre gabalin or gabalentin or diloxetine. Is it any of those. Thankyou. :)

Escitalopram = lexapro

Sorry, i forgot! And in my case I take the escitalopram.

Ah yes ty I take citiopran same thing I think ? .

Welcome sweets :). I just noticed your post. I have Fybro too , but the last three or so month I have noticed that I am. Becoming over sensitive to a bit of dust or things not straight on mantle piece etc. It exhausts me. I just find the strength , say to do a easy meal but as I'm taking things out of fridge, I end up cleaning that and wiping down everything with wipes. I am absolutely exhausted. Even before I cook and that's not including wiping all the bin just because I put something in it. I wonder if, as anxiety is caused by Fybro if also OCD is also. Unless it's meds , as I have had Fybro a long time and it's only just happening. I must stop it before it gets worse. I also have angina and push myself to stupid limits with cleaning. One smudge on something, means I clean the whole thing. Anyway sweetly I wish you well and look forward to chatting n helping on here Take care. x

I have just read all the other posts under yours and yes it seems a lot o us have got this. It is indeed a terrible conflicting thing.

And hello Ken :) good to see u I haven't been on too much be happy and well :)

When it rains it pours, doesnt it? Ive come to believe we are all on a sort of sliding OCD scale. I think anxiety and frustration with our inability to control our health can make that flare up a bit if you're prone to that sort of thing.

Fragile58 did you mean citalopram? I wasn't sure if that was a typo....citalopram is the generic version of Celexa. That's not the same thing as the generic version of Lexapro. I hope that helps :-)

in reply to Sheyp62

Thanks sheyp62. Take no notice lol my brain is fog. Ur right citalopran is antidepressant and I take so many meds I get given so many different generic versions. Wish they didn’t tho. As it’s hard to keep changing when ur used to the color / shape of the original, when sorting them out for the week.
