Hi all I'm new to this site..

I've been suffering with my back legs headaches and ibs for over 10 years!! The past year my arm shoulders and upper back started hurting really bad, was back and fore the doctors who just kept fobbing me off, also started suffering with irritable leg syndrome EVERY nite so got really depressed 😢 The doc told me there was no such thing 😮 It was only when i put all my symptoms on google that this fibromyalgia came up!! I've never heard of it before.. so confronted my doctor and asked why this have never been mentioned??? I've been on the sick for 4 months and am now waiting to see a neurologist!! Hope they sort me out as haven't had a day free of pain for god knows how long....

Hi Nanny40 and welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.

It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are.

I'm afraid fibromyalgia does tend to take some time to diagnose because everything has to be illiminated first which takes time. At least now you are going in the right direction and your GP has referred you.

I'm sorry you are in so much pain and there is other medications that is commonly prescribed for patients with Fibro, so hopefully you will get some help with managing your pain.

I look forward to chatting with you on the site.

Please do go look at the mother site where you will find all the information you need and lots of useful links on Fibro and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.

Welcome to the forum you never wanted to join and where we dont want you to be either. But you are here so here we go. Unfortunately yours is an all to familiar story, but you now have contact with people who have been there, done that and struggle to put on more than a T shirt. We do understand and will be the ears you need to dhout at and the quiet sympathetic and understanding voice of advice and help. I will leave my fibro friends to give you their best advice as i am an RA sufferer, whilst many of our shared problems over lap at the moment your fibro issues and questions need addressing. Blessings
