How much actually is paid?

Worth it?

Yes you can apply, it does not mind what diagnose you have but it matters how your health issue affects your daily life. How much you get depends on how many points you score. The process is that you fill in forms (long ones) and then you have to go to an assessment

Good luck x

Some guidance on eligibility for PIP gov.uk/pip/how-to-claim

Hi Hidden

I posted this on another thread for you but have pasted it again here:

I have pasted for you below two *GOV.UK links entitled: How to claim PIP & How to claim ESA. So I genuinely hope that you find these useful:

gov.uk/pip/how-to-claim

gov.uk/employment-support-a...

I would definitely make an appointment with your local Citizens Advice and / or Local Council and ask for a disability officer and get some professional help with filling in the forms and ascertain some good advice prior to sending the forms off my friend.

I have also pasted you the contact number for the *FMA UK benefits adviser (Janet):

Benefits Helpline: 0300 999 0055 (10am - 12pm Mon, Wed, and Fri)

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I would not only second, you getting help from your local Citizens Advice/Benefits, I would also third and fourth this suggestion! I have received so much help over the years from them, on such a wide array of topics, i can't sing their praises enough. They have literally, filled in forms(the big book kinds)for me, when my hands were in too much pain to complete them myself.

I have suggested them to many friends of mine, all coming away with positive feedback. You can also be very frank and honest with them, in the questions you ask. All confidential and secure with the conversations you have with them. make an appointment soon, you won't be disappointed! good luck on your journey through bureaucracy ,don't give up Linda...

Yes they can look up the pip phone number online give them a ring tell them you want to make a claim. You're claim will start the the day you ring them you should look up online for the way pip is scored. Good luck

Hello Linda, the simple answer is yes a person with fibromyalgia can claim all of the above subject to them otherwise fitting the criteria for each of the benefits. The process can be long, can be difficult and most people need help with the process of claiming one or all of the benefits. Each of the benefits available has a different claim procedure. Each benefit has an individual question and answer and claim guidance information on the .gov websities. Once you start a claim process please ask questions here and let the members here know how your claim is progressing, we all learn all the time and it helps others behind you in the process.

Blessings.

The more input from your health professionals will go well.If you are incapable of work you might get ESA and PIPS depending how bad your health effects you. Your might be unlucky and get neither. The person who assesses you will ask you loads of questions and ask you to perform movements and these will go towards your booklet you filled in. I got ESA few years ago without face to assessment. Some people do.You can be put in work or support group.Don't know why it's called support group really as I never got any contact from them

Good luck

Yes you can but it's not about the illness it's about how they effect your daily living

Pip is not means tested. There is a really good Facebook group called 4Up that offers support and advice.

Good morning.

It depends on how your illness effects you, some people with fibromyalgia manage to hold a part time job down did for many years, I had a really understanding boss.

I now get ESA support and pip standered rate did have full rate but when pip came out I lost it, ( we took our bath out and put a walk in shower in with a seat ) now I came manage to have a shower on my own.

So the answer is yes depending on how bad you are.

Please read benefits rules 29, 35, Heath and safety

They went a long way when quoted by the specialist and doctor, there all about being safe at work for you and other people.

They are there rules not ours. My husband has cfs and it was the assessor that told him that he came under these rules.

Please read they might have changed the numbers now but they are sill There.

All the very best.

when I went to cad they told me just to ask for when Fibro was 1st mentioned by your Dr or Specialist to prove they were aware of fibro and a few other pages.. that on appeal they didn't need the full records give them permission to access your records..

Yes you can apply for PIP if you are suffering from fibromyalgia, i have and was successful in getting an award. this was t the end of last year. what you need to do is go onto the DWP website and get the phone number of the pip department, and you phone this up, you have to give them some detail, your national insurance number. They will then send you an application pack, and you have to return it within a month.

i would also suggest that you send in any document that help prove your case, such as doctor/hospital letters, as the more evidence you supply the more hep it will be. Also fill in the form as if it was your worst day.

you will also have to probably go to a face to face interview too, and the issue i had with this is the assessor was over nice and that did put me at ease and she seemed to be saying all the right things when i was explaining my problems, so i left the i thought it had go really well, only to find that when i got my award through the post. it gives you a breakdown of the questions that i had answered, ans also what the assessor had written bout me, and they just didn't tally at all. it had what each answer was worth points wise, and i basically managed to get the living section, but was 2 points away from the mobility section, even tough i have to walk with crutches and even walk around a supermarket without having to use a wheelchair. I decided to try and appeal this, but before i did this i read something on the website saying that i could actually loose any money i had already been awarded, and i couldn't afford to loose the award so in the end didn't do anything about it.

hope this can be some help, just remeber the more information you can give them and written evidence(give originals not photocopies as they will photocopy them)

Good luck

sorry should have said if you need any help pleases don't hesitate to get in touch, i can give my email address so we can talk privately if you want. I know how anxious was when applying so if can help in anyway then please ask.

Im just about to battle with them again as i have been diagnosed with a few more problems but must admit im a bit apprehensive to contact them in case they reduce what little i get now (£55 a week).

Hi,

Do you know what they ask at interview? Just get nervous and can't think when I haven't planned before

Pip & Fibro yep its a go.

in addition to the 4up site quoted I recommend Benefits and work site. They have a download you can get if you 'join' I did and printed it off .Well worth it as I filled in form with those guidelines and I suspect sending copies of every hospital appointment for 12 month preceding got me my mobility and care awards!

Don't put on a "brave face" when it comes to filling in the forms but write everything down about your very worse pain day. Include even the little things like handling cutlery and brushing your hair etc. Keep fighting them as when they change from DWP to PIP they took away all of my mobility and dropped the living allowance to standard. Been fighting them for nearly 2 years and recently went to court and my mobility was reinstated at standard and living kept at the same. Still fighting it now. So don't give up if they say no a few times and keep appealing. Good Luck 🍀🍀🍀.

Fibromyalgia is now proven to be a organic disease of the brain & central nervous system. I have suffered for over 20 years & becoming more debilitating as each year passes . In my case I receive enhanced pip as I am crippled & dependant on others. The idea fibromyalgia is psychosomatic /stress/sleep disorder is no longer neurologists opinions these are symptoms , a few of many. Depending on if your diagnosis is correct & if you're truly debilitated then why on earth would you think you couldn't claim.
