Hiya kirstie232 welcome. Yes we can offer advice on where to get help but can you give us some more info? Have you been asked to apply for pip? x
No i haven't been asked. I have many more illnesses then just Fibro. I have Seizure's, Astma, short term memory loss, now fibro. They keep rejecting me because the drs (gp) sent that my seizure's are still under investigation and that i haven't got fibro.
So sorry your going through this. If you are to ill to work you can apply for ESA. They will pay you assessment rate for 13 weeks while they investigate your claim. Regarding disabilities most people are having to apply for PIP as DLA is being fazed out. If you are being told your fit for work then you can get a sick (fit) note from your doctor and give it to job centre and can be signed off for 13 weeks. So without knowing your circumstances hope this helps. We also have our own benefits adviser Janet but not sure if she is around at the minute but someone from admin will be along soon to welcome you and they will give you all the info. Take care xx
Hi kirstie232
Welcome to the forum
We are primarily a Support Group for people that suffer with Fibromyalgia.
Many of us also have additional conditions too.
We are not experts in benefits advice. We can only tell you about our own experiences with Fibromyalgia.
What makes you think you have Fibromyalgia if your GP is saying that you don't?
I think your best bet would be to contact the CAB and ask them to help you.
Either that or look for a Disability Advocate in your area to help you.
Without a definitive diagnosis of Fibromyalgia I would think that is where your problem lies.
Ask your GP to refer you to a Rheumatologist. They specialise in diagnosing conditions such as Fibromyalgia.
We do have a Benefits Adviser, as angiesmith50 has said, but unfortunately she is away until 6/1/17.
Good luck and please let us know how you get on.
Wishing you much peace

I was diagnosed by my rhumotologist back in September last year!
I'm so sorry I misunderstood. I thought you said your GP has said you don't have Fibromyalgia.
Please accept my apologies.
I still think you need professional help with your next step.
The CAB are very good at helping with these forms, as are Disability Advocates.
Whereabouts are you in the process now? Sorry I'm a bit confused!
Are you appealing the decision?

They said they is nothing i can do as it's to late. It's ok. I'm at Cab on Tuesday anyways so I'll have a chat with them about it. Thanks.
Are you taking any medication at all or getting any help with your Fibro?
If the CAB are not able to help you, please do come back and let us know.
Unfortunately the DWP want lots of "evidence" of your illness and how it affects you.
Much of it is getting the wording correct that the DWP want.
Please will you come back either way and let us know how you get on?

Hi Kirsty2002 welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.
It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are.
I see you already have some great advise from BlueMermaid3 so I can't really add to that, just wanted to say Hi & wish you well with it.
Peace, luv n light

Hi kirstie232

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi Kirstie and welcome to the forum. Kirstie DLA is nothing to do with your ability to work and nothing to do with job centre. The job centre deal with JSA for those signing on that are able to work, if you are not able to work or sign on for any period i believe you need to go to your gp and ask for a note saying you are unfit to work. You then need to apply for ESA if you cannot work for a longer period and that will be what the job centre deals with. I think it would be best if you can get to see a benefits advisor at your local CAB or voluntary centre. Best of luck. Blessings.
