Along with all the usual pains, does anyone have an awful feeling of pressure in the ears with pain around the occipital bones?
I suspect I have Tinitus too and my ears often feel really itchy inside - just where you can do nothing about it!! Not had pain though. Nothing with fibro would surprise me though, seem to be able to hurt anywhere. You have my sympathy x
Thanks Claire, I know about the itchy thing too! I seem to itch all over at times....thankfully I have a lovely hubby to really give my back a really good scratch! How long have you suffered this awful affliction? i do wish there was a magic pill.... I used to feel 'on the ball' & full of energy. A thing of the past. :{
hello fibro-hater
I have hearing loss by half just been to ENT told it could be otosclerosis middle ear bone ,needs hearing aid or op having a strapedial reflex test in march to decide what they will do. my head kills, often wake with pain in the occipital area and neck and i cry as its unbearable , i do grind my teeth, teeth showing signs of this ! i have terrible tinnitus wooshing and humming noises so loud wakes me! ihad a vertigo attack few weeks ago room spinning . my head feels stuffed one side and i am getting blurred vision sometimes cant see my phone all fizzy . i cant tollerate light of pc drains me .hope your ok go to your gp for referal to ENT sorry if errors have brain fog Again x Judy
Thanks Jude..... will look into what otosclerosis is in a mo! Do you have probs with a clicky jaw by the way? Mine's dreadful. Does the pitch change depending upon jaw movement, mine does...really screeches sometimes, very high-pitched. Think I could do with seeing a different ENT specialist perhaps. Oh I too grind my teeth, which has caused a lot of dental problems. Oh happy days! Annette -x-
Hi Lynn, no not had a cold recently, and this is a chronic problem. I do use Obas oil on chest to help to keep nose clear. Have seen an ENT specialist, who said my ears were clear & that I had mild hearing loss. He said that maybe meds could be the cause of the noise. I take Amitriptylin & Gabapentin only at night. The pitch alters too by jaw movement. He could give me no reason for this, which left me feeling very let-down.
It's frustrating and depressing..... any ideas anyone?
Hi fibro -hater. Look up the symptoms for meniers syndrome. You seem to have most of them. I suffer from it, vertigo, tinnitus, a feeling of fullnees or pressure in your ears and mild to moderate hearing loss. Occasionally complete, temporary hear loss on one side. Maybe something to suggest to your GP.
I am suffering jaw tightness and tingling round nose at times ! latest is a head ach on top of my head comes and goes like pressure really hurts brings tears ! i am going to ask about meniers when i go for next test not happy to jump to an op that quick! from hearing test to look in my ears ! Gosh fibro giving me a go tonight ,sweats ,roaming pains,, shins ,now bone up arm from wrist to elbow finding hard to type loads errors took time to write silly sentence !!! feel heavy headed like drunk < but no drink lol take care all sleep tite judyx
Hi there, I have had fibro for about 3years and i never have any relief from my ears. I have the feeling where there is cotton wool stuffed in them and i cant stand any noise, The out side of my ear hurts so much, Which people look at me strange if i mention anything about my ears.
I too have tinitus and i think i have loss of hearing as i have to lip read.
I take gabapentin and amitriyplyn.
I would say it is one of my worst things i have to live with daily.

Hi Kel, I agree the ear thing is what I find to hardest to bear. Same drugs as myself, do you suppose there could be a link?.... My ENT specialist could have a point perhaps. The Gabapentin is a relatively new drug for me, the Ami. I've been taking for about a year. My tinnitus is definitely getting worse....need soft background noise to help block it out. Do you mean behind your ear is source of pain....that's the worst point for me. Annette -x-
