Late motherhood

I got my little Mia when she just fitted in my hand. I did this self portrait with her and gave it the title "Late Motherhood". She really is my baby, even so she is grown up now, she will always remain my baby. I love her so much.I hope you get some pleasure out of this painting which I did for my grand-daughter.

Thanks Robbie. I would paint more if the material would not be so expensive. Pastels need to be protected after finishing and that all cost money I don't have. I have not painted much. I only started late in life.

That is brilliant naturagirl....your grand-daughter must be over the moon to receive such a treasure and I just love the title......animals give us so much love and affection and are important in our lives...I couldn't be without one...Did you use watercolours? It almost looks like a chalk with the way you have got the shading.....Thank you for sharing with us.....xx

Thank you Trikki, you are too kind. It is a pastel , so you are close, as it is kind of similar to chalk. My granddaughter does not appreciate it very much and neither do my kids. They rather buy art from other people they don't know. My work probably will end up in the cellar or in the op-shop one day, lol.

Thanks Dex, I should have given people access to my pictures before, as I do not have great self confidence. I have not painted all that much . It does feel good to get nice feed-backs I must say.

Thank's fenbadger, That's exactly how I feel, haha. My sincerest wish is that I will outlive my cats (I got 3 ), so they will not be deserted one day or end up in cruel hands. I feel like their mother. My cats are better than dogs. They come immediately when I call them, they warn me when someone enters my property (without making the noise dogs make) and they follow me everywhere.

I love dogs too, actually all animals. People who do not like cats do not know cats.
