Is it possible ????
Phone up your lacal CAB office and they may be able to advise you!
ryanbone10 has given good advice. I know if you disagree with a decision and ask for a Mandatory Consideration they have to give you a copy of the assessment on request and also if you go to Tribunal as we have done both. I am not sure how long they keep these things. Capita or Atos does the assessment on the part of the DWP and one of their officers makes the final decision on whether an award is made and at what rate so I would think logically that the DWP would have it but LOL logic doesn't seem to form any part of this strange benefit system. Hope you can get a copy let us know how you get on as it might help someone else in the future who wants to do the same as you. Good luck.x
Hi rosewine- yes I think you are right DWP end up with files, I complained directly to Stephen Wragg about the postal system used by ASOS in my area and he replied in 48 hours so I am guessing he either has access or can request our files. I say carry on complaining- just look what happened to the poor tax credit applicants recently!!!
Totally agree those poor people trying to be honest and earn a crust and then they end up at a food bank and nearly losing their homes.
As for the mail I was told by someone in the know that the PIP forms are delivered to a sorting centre very close to where I live which I had noticed from the address. Most of us pay mega money for signed for delivery naively thinking someone there would have signed to say it has been delivered into their hands and it is in fact the postman who signs as half the time there is no one about. What a system.x
I have to say from Costly experience use the brown envelope provided and don,t bother paying for registered or recorded as you are right- its a massive sorting office where mail is sorted and faxed and scanned to appropriate assessor and the delvery postman signs for a mammouth sack of letters from us!!
Hi Ladylucan ... I haven't got a clue on what your asking but doesn't it say somewhere on the (Help/Guidance Booklet) that they do not return forms, I don't know, I just have a recollection of reading it somewhere. Interesting one though, as ryanbone10 say's, best bet is to call local CAB I'm sure they will know.
Luv Jan x
Hi Ladylucan
I have pasted for you below an excerpt and a link to the disability website, Equal Lives which intimate that the notes will end up with the DWP.
*Medical Assessments
Some benefits will require a medical assessment to help make a decision about what level of support you are entitled to.
It is always helpful to take evidence to the assessment if you have it (see below for suggestions on getting evidence). One of the assessment providers has told us “We continue to request further evidence in the majority of assessments. However, often evidence is returned after we have completed the report and submitted it to DWP. In these cases, DWP will review the evidence received and decide if they want to take action”. They should request evidence if they think it is needed to make a correct decision, but you need to know that they won’t necessarily ask for evidence from everyone that you name.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
