We would not list it as a primary symptom ( widespread pain, fatigue, non refreshing sleep, and fibro fog) and would not put it in the common secondary symptoms. If someone called the charity helpline then likely we would point people to speak to their GP and discuss current medications.
Separating ED from meds or other issue from low libido etc would be important. There are a number of meds that have been shown to impact on sexual health for both genders.
Think I had seen that one previously and the question would still be if there was an organic / biological cause or not or a result of the impact of the condition on emotional health for like of a better phrase. That time frame will likely exclude the antiepileptics and the increased incidence of prescribing of "fibro drugs" so would be good to see a more up to date study. Would also be interested in how they matched medications to limit it as a confounder.
Present medication butec pain patches which are usually no good whatsoever as I was rushed into hospital last year with a twisted intestine & bowel blockage bought on by the opioids in the pain patches which are under controlled use.
Had to have a internal washout which was terrible etc.
Pain & neuro blockers have no effect on me whatsoever
Just to add about "Psychology issues" are separate from emotional health. Being in the mood or physical comfort can play a part. Having pain as a response to what would normally be something enjoyable is obviously demotivating.
Have you been to a sexual health clinic? What about things like PDEs e.g. viagra?
Well done for having the courage to mention this topic - it must be very difficult. My husband does not have fibromyalgia but he does take Sertraline and this has resulted in ED. Could it be more due to medication? There are always side effects to any medication and sometimes it's a case of trial and error and weighing up the benefits of the medication versus the side effects.
