I am new to this site, I have RA & fibromyalgia, I have worked for the past 43 years, unfortunatley due to my illness my employer termiinated my employment this year as they were unable to offer me any other alternative work. I have recently been on ESA and have my assessment with the DWP later today, not sure what to expect as I have never been in this situation before. Any advice?
Regards
D

Hi there Mum2-1 welcome to the site. I have Polymýalgia/Fibro & Arthritis, nerve damage in my spine & feet. Was told for yrs I had RA & symptoms & meds for RA & at times my bloods have been really high, so a lot similar to you.
It's been few yrs since DLA medical & things have changed but they just ask you all the questions on form you filled in & many have had experiences of feeling tricked etc. I'm not saying they are all like this but just be very careful how you answer them.
They will ask you if you can perform certain tasks that you have said you can or can't do on your form.
I think a lot of is it yes no answers & they tick boxes..
Hopefully other members will see your post & give you better advise.
Preferably take someone with you unless they doing home visit.
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted for you below the CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) cache on ESA Assessments. There is some wonderful advice on the pages.
