Welcome  and join in the best way to get real of the moment info from people like you living with Fibro.

Hot pain can mean inflammation so try a cooling gel like Deep freeze.

If it is a 'new' pain ask yourself how long have I had it?

Was I doing anything different?(that includes worst sleeping regime).

Am I taking the painkillers at the right time as prescribed etc. If you are concerned get it checked out. Muscle pulls can be very hurtful.

Another tip is see how many pillows are you using when you rest as bad posture in bed can be horridly painful when awake!

Sincerely hope you get reduced symptoms soon

Welcome to this wonderful forum Catlady.  Have a look at our mother site Fibromyalgia Action UK has it has some very good sections on the type of symptoms us fibromites get and some of the medications and alternative treatments that might help.

I too get these horrible hot burning pains in my back which radiate from my spine normally but can suddenly shoot across any part of my back at whim.  My GP said they are a type of neurpathic pain.  Pregablin has damped them down quite a bit but if they are persistant I use freeze gel or spray likes Skit has so wonderfully advised.  Something else that can be prescribed if your GP thinks it is suitable are Lidocaine patches as I find if I get these pains for a few days and they will not go away if I have a few days of wearing these patches the symptoms get much better.

Sometimes soaking in a warm Epsom salt bath can relax the nerve endings as well.  I do hope they ease for you as it is not a pleasant sensation.  I look forward to your future posts.x

We know how that feels. Welcome to the madhouse! Several forum members have severe problems with their shoulders. I'm sure it won't be long before they respond to your post. Weekends are usually quieter than during the week, so please have patience. I haven't added shoulders to my list of woes, yet so can't help you I'm afraid. I hope you get some advice soon 🐸

Hi catlady123

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

fmauk.org/

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering and struggling in this way, and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue. I also have this quite frequently in my shoulders, and it is horrendous. My medications do not really stop the pain but they ease it slightly. Apart from the usual Fibro related medications such as Pregabalin and Nortriptyline, I also use Cocodamol and Nefopam to help ease the pain.

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

ive got it now, suprised me how much it hurts, only started last couple of months, arm feels like an appendage l darent put any pressure on at all, or use.  l had two days of it midweek, settled a few days, started again on waking today, tiring.  l use ibuprofen gel, with marginal improvement, heat patches seem to  make it too hot, usually work, but not with this., l also get pain in my wrist along iwth shoulder, left shoulder, small mercies, being l,m right handed. l might try the freeze gel next, as adviced in rose post, but hoping it settles soon, and hope yours does. take care, and enjoy site. lyn
