Oh Dee thats marvelous just what you need and isn`t he a hansome lad hugs sue :D

Oh Dee, he is so gorgeous! I need him ;)! You lucky, lucky thing.

I am sure you will make each other very happy. What's his story? How on earth did he end up at Battersea? His age would suggest some idiot purchased him as a Christmas present perhaps? He really is very lovely, hugs to you and Dexter. I think I might be in love... Xx

He's lovely Dee! his coat is a lovely colour. I hope you have many happy years together.

aw he Is so lovely,im guessing he was an unwanted christmas present.hope he brings you lots of happiness

i am always pleased to hear when people adopt dogs from rescue centres.there are so many awaiting homes and with new puppies costing hundreds of pounds-spend £100 or whatever it is and give a rescue dog a home.they make such loving companions .

(my first dog Max was a Battersea dog and he is now happily playing at Rainbow Bridge.(the day I lost him there was a full rainbow in the sky and now every time I see a rainbow it reminds me of him and of that awful day-a day ill never forget. )) RIP sophie

Awwwww :) he's a handsome chappie Dee.

It's lovely to hear that you rescued him and wishing he gives you all plenty of fun and friendship

Sending Dexter a fluffie doggie basket to snuggle into :)

Welcome to Dexter, he is gorgeous and looks so much like my dog. She is a staffie cross, a rescue dog. She had been taken away from her prev owner. We have had her nine years so much older now.

Although many would disagree, staffies are so gentle and very loving.

Ours has never given us any trouble. She was rather hyper when young, but even now at 11 she loves playing football. Has good 'nose' control. She dislocated her shoulder the other week but we didn't know what was wrong, we thought it was her foot as she was limping one minute, then was fine the next. Luckily the vet spotted it without the need for xRays. She always gives the vet a kiss too :)

I'm sure Dexter will give you many years of happiness, hugs and cuddles. Ours wont settle for the night without a cuddle first :) xx

Hi there fibro, thank you...why don't you put a photo up of bud for us to see, sorry to hear about her shoulder, yes I had heard that staffs had a bad name when my daughter said she was going to get on I wasn't sure. But as she said to me Mum you had two dobermans two boxer all rescue at the same time and your worrying about one little staffie , I don't think any dog is bad it's owners for nor making sure that themselves are the Alpha and not the dog, .....gentle hugs....Dee xx

You are certainly right, its the owners! We used to have a cavalier and comparing the nature of the two dogs you would expect them to be different, but they were both so gentle, so i guess it comes down to how we bought them up.

I will try and find a piccie of when she was young as she is looking old now, she is over 11" but she was about two when we got her.

when my husband came home from work i showed him the piccie of Dexter and he couldnt believe how uncanny it was. We would have loved to have seen our little'n when she was that young, we could have saved her from the horrible life she must have had, she even had a cigarette burn in her ear when we got her :(

I have just found a couple of piccies. I think i have to post the separately. I will put your name at the top of the posts so you know to look out for them.

We have no idea what she was crossed with, but possibly a german shepherd cross. She isnt very tall. Hope you can see the resemblance with dexter. I knownits hard to tell just from photos but you will see xx
