Hi, I have had this annoying condition for many years, most of which were undiagnosed. I find there is total ignorance about this syndrome and i really arent sure if it exists myself. I do know that whatever it is , it is dibilitating and ruins my everday life, i have had a particularly painful weekend, hence finding on line help.

Hello lottie56

Welcome to the forum :)

I have to say that you sound fed up to the back teeth and I can't blame you!

I was diagnosed with Fibro and ME in 1980 and the ignorance I have come across regarding these conditions has been astounding.

I was just saying the other day that I have my doubts too that a condition can give you so much pain and fatigue.

All of our members have Fibromyalgia and many of us have other conditions to contend with as well.

We have a wonderful bunch of members who are more than happy to share their experiences with you.

I would highly recommend that you look into locking your posts, Just so that you know unlocked posts are open to the whole internet whereas locked posts stay within our forum.

Here is a link to an easy to follow guide on how to do this:

Once again a very warm welcome and I look forward to chatting to you again.

PS I meant to ask whether you have ever been referred to a Pain Clinic? If not, it may well be worth asking your GP for a referral.

Hello lottie56 and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can find help, advice, understand and support along with a chuckle or two to lighten the day.

Have you seen our Mother Site fmauk.org ? Here you will find a wealth of information including guides and links.

If you are finding that your doctor is not very knowledgeable about fibro or is dismissive, you can use a link to send a Fibro pack anonymously to your surgery.

It could be that you may need to change your doctor or even the surgery if you feel you are not getting support.

I suggest you ask for a referral to a Pain Clinic and perhaps ask your doctor to "tweak" your meds or try something different.

Fibromyalgia DOES exist and is indeed a recognised illness both by the NHS and DWP, and no it is not in your head :)

You have definitely come to the right place here and I do hope we will see you joining in around the forum.

Hi lottie56 welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.

It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are.

I look forward to chatting with you on the forum.

Peace, luv n light
