Jackie
Good morning Jackie and welcome to our forum. I was diagnosed in 1999 after a year of Drs. appts. monthly .I dealt with the pain for several years but as I got older the pain got worse (along with other problems). You have had you share of surgery which I would think contributes to your pain. I live in the US and I go to a pain clinic for treatment From what I understand it's a little different as to where you live.I suggest talking with Dr. that diagnosed you about treatment.Welcome again to the forum!!!! ✌
It me 15 years to get a diagnosis, before then a rheumatologist, old man, said I was neurotic. So did my gp. I started going to a different practice and was sent to a different rheumatologist who dx fibromyalgia. It can take years to get dx confirmed, esp if you're a woman
Hi Jackie
Welcome to our wonderful forum 😊 I am so sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, but am very happy that you have found us.
We are a kind, caring compassionate bunch who all look out for each other.
If you'd like to take a look at our mother site on fmauk.org you may find some useful information.
Unfortunately finding what works for you medication wise is something that you really need to discuss with your GP. Would you mind me asking who diagnosed you? Have you seen a Rheumatologist? If not, it might be a good idea to ask your GP to refer you to one.
There are lots of other things that your GP can refer you for. For instance CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Pain Management Clinic and Physio.
Swimming is probably the best exercise you can do, if you can manage it.
Finally I would just like to mention locking your post. I will put below instructions on how to do this. If you scroll down a few posts you will find one from me explaining the importance of locking posts and why you should lock them.
I look forward to seeing you around the forum.
Wishing you calmness and peace

Hi Brora56
Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. It may help to discuss with your doctor exactly how you are feeling and ask them if they have any stronger pain killers that may help you? Pain is very difficult to describe to a doctor and so they may not understand how bad things are for you? I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
