Duloxetine was the only med that got my chronic pain bareable, unfortunately like everything else I've tried no longer works. But definitely saw an improvement for a few months.Lots of gentle hugs to you x

Same for me , it helped for a couple of months. Will you be trying to come off it ? I forgot to take a tablet one day and felt much worse so I'm not sure anymore whether it helps slightly or these were just withdrawal symptoms

I think everyone reacts differently, I get really bad side effects from Duloxtine.

Saaaame!! Also it didn’t curb my pain and I needed more pain meds… I’m now on a complete detox cause nothing works so might as well right?

I think you are right, this is the third medication the doctor has tried for me all of these types of meds have given me side effects. Have you stopped all the meds? thanks for replying x

In the process of coming off. Just have 30mg duloxieine twice a day to go :)

I have so much more energy, thought clarity, flexibility, rest periods are actually fruitful and I’ve lost some chub : so overall mood lifted . I can feel and sense my pain which means I can work around, through and with it in hope to get rid.

I have been given 60mg tablets and they have to be swallowed whole so I can't reduce the dose. I am going to speak to the GP to reduce my dose. Thanks for helping x

Hi there, I've been prescribed duloxetine for the past 7 years. I am thinking of coming off this medication with the help of my GP. I'm not sure how much it's actually working. I may find out if it's beneficial or not. I hope you find the duloxetine helpful if you agree to take it.

Exactly what I’m doing currently since being on it for 2 years. I have more energy and side effects impacting me daily actually.

Hi there! I am a pharmacist! It is likely your doctor wanted to optimise your pain control as SNRIs like duloxetine are reported to be more effective than SSRIs like fluoxetine. Both drug classes are very similar with overlapping side effects, but like all meds everyone can react differently. Duloxetine is generally licensed and has wider usage for neuropathic pain unlike fluoxetine which is mainly for depressive disorders. Definitely give duloxetine a try and see how you feel. Note that these medications can take a few weeks to acheive their effect

I did exactly the same. Changed from Fluoxetine to Duloxetine because it was supposed to help more with pain. Sadly not. It didn't work for me. But I'm sure it depends on the individual..Good luck!

Did you go back on fluoxetine? I don’t think it help the pain but it does help x

Yes I went back on Fluoxetine, but it was for depression. No difference in pain unfortunately

I found this drug didn't work for me. It might work for you, the only way to find out is to try it. Pharmaceutical drugs do have side effects though.

I've been taking duloxetine for Fibro & depression for 11 or 12 years and honestly the only way I'll stop taking it is when they prise it out of my cold dead hand. 👍 Really has been a life changer.
