benefit and fibromyalgia

Hi This is the first time I have posted on the site. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia after months of the symptoms. Blood tests rolled out lupus and rumatoid arthritis. I work and don't want to give it up but due to being an above knee amputee I'm struggling at home and in work. Has anyone claimed the care side of disability for this condition. I do get mobility allowance and have a mobility car for this. but I'm fining everyday things at home difficult.thanks in advance Julie

Hello Julie

Welcome to the forum 😊 I just wondered whether you were aware that you have put the same post up twice?

I can take one down for you, if it would help not to complicate matters. Let me know if you would like me to do that.

I am a little confused that you have mobility but don't have care. Did you claim for both?

Are you still on DLA or do you have PIP?

If you can give me a few more details I'll see what I can suggest to help.

I'm not in the slightest bit surprised that you are struggling!

Wishing you calmness and peace

Lu xx

hi Lu thanks for replying. Yes please take one off. I'm on DLA. high for mobility and lowest care component. I know I will eventually change to PIP if I qualify. since becoming poorly with fibromyalgia I'm finding getting up and downstairs hard and using hairdryer so wondered if I would qualify for care side. I want to continue working.

Hi JulieG68

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have read posts from members on the forum who get the care component in DLA and PIP, so it is achievable.

I am so genuinely sorry to read of how you are suffering and struggling with your Fibro and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck. it may help to discuss with your GP or Medical Specialist about how much you are struggling?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
