Inflammed ribs

I have inflammed ribs and they seem to hurt more at night. Anyway, I was trying to get comfortable in bed, when I had this painful pinching off and on in my side. Now I feel anxious and can't sleep. Has anyone else had this ?

Hi larissa,yes i hav this quite often, i just wait for it to pass but if u hav had it for a very long time nonstop then maybe u shud discuss it with ur gp? Get it checked out. I did think acid build up caused it for me bt cant tell u for sure wat cause urs cud b. Hope it goes away n u feel better. Warm hugs to u.: Babs

I am so gneuinely sorry to read that and as Bkaul says it may be a good idea to check it out with your GP, as it could be one of many things. I get a similar pain due to my Costachondritis.

hello Larissa,

a lot of us have protruding ribs.I get that "pinching" feeling and am unsure how they can protrude for no reason.i feel something is pressing against ribs causing the protrusion.the inner end of my left ribs are more so and like my facial bones feel sore to touch and prominent.

they do prevent sleep and activity.

I have the same sensation caused by costo chondritis the same as Ken. If it is getting worse I would just have a word with your GP hope it eases soon as it is terrible trying to rest when it is like that.x

Hello larissa,,,,,when you feel painful in the ribs,,,sleep propped up on a slope,,,,,it might be more comfortable,,,,,,I sleep like this every night,,,cannot sleep on my back or sides,,,,almost have shares in the pillow factory!!,,,,ttfn from Karen.
