Ribs chest pain!
Yes I often get this. Aching in my ribs usually - they feel tight and sore. Be careful that it is fibro though as I got new pains in my chest and managed to get an appointment with a nurse (couldn't get to see a doc - because of covid apparently) who said it was an ulcer caused by my anti inflammatories. Just to say if you get any new symptoms I would check with a doctor.
Thanks I don't take anti inflammatory meds and I've had an endoscopy and was all clear but it's a good point u made thank u x
Good morning Lola, I'm sure many of us suffer with this type of pain. For me it tends to be something called Intercostal Neuralgia. Other times it can be something has common has cramp through lack of movement. Cramp can be one of the worse pains ever IMO.
A gentle massage and heat usually helps me. But the biggest help I've found is not to sit in one position for too long. I hope you have a pleasant day xx

Thank u for ur advice I will use hot water bottle on this area xxx
Hi Lola, oh yes I would say this is a huge inconvenience for me the pain is constant and I have to try really hard to catch my breath I have been diagnosed with costochondritis might be worth looking into 🥰
Thanks hunxxx😘
Hi Lola, my first symptom was tenderness and dull aches in the side of ribs. Way back in June. These early signs were apparently of fibro but GP at that time was convinced it was muscular.
Anyways these days I still feel random ache in that region. Applying hot moist towel can give temporary relief.
Take care. 🙂
Thank u xx
Morning, I think costochondritis is a fairly common symptom. I asked my osteopath to help me with this which she did - and reminded me of the need to practice a more yoga style of breathing.
Hi,
Last week I was diagnosed with Costochondritis brought up by some bacterial infection. I am now on very heavy antibiotics anti inflammatory tablets and and painkillers. Apprearantly people who have osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis general inflammation of the joints are more susceptible to this rib cage inflammation the bacteria works it way and hits the weakest link. I could not even move my arms or hands couldn't turn around in the bed during the night. Even taking a deep breath is enough to set the pain. Make sure you get enough sleep to help the body recover.
it could also be caused by a virus or bacteria going on in the air which needs to be fought off by antibiotics. It is not COVID-19 but some different bacteria with different symptoms.
Get it checked! Please Don't just tie it to being part of fibromyalgia.
All the best
Thank u
