Hi I have osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease, and dr says lupus! I have been on hydroxychloroquine for almost a year I feel better on it it took awhile to get in system but you should start feeling better. With me and all that I have I hurt all the time no matter what so the way you respond and the time frame may be different! Hope this help. By the way it can cause hair loss so if a lot starts coming out when you brush your hair don't be alarmed my dr says it's normal and the hair will grow back.

glad it's working for you. I also have fibro and did have polymyalgia rheumatica for over 2 years. in remission at moment. does it cause a lot of hair loss and did it cause you any sickness x

I felt a little different for the first week but after that better but that may have been me being in a flair before I started the meds! If I for get to take it I feel it later.

Though I had hair loss in the beginning it grew back and was healthier and curlier I wouldn't be without it....if I have a foggy day and am late with or forget meds within a day or so I pay for it as inflammation sets in my joints and it takes what seems like an age to get back in line

I don't find it any help with the fatigue though which some do....

Gentle hugs

I take it for lupus and other autoimmune stuff and tolerate it well. I have heard some people feel a bit sick at first but fortunately not me.

It does take a few weeks to kick in though so don't expect an immediate transformation. Also, although it dampens down some of the symptoms the conditions are still there and it does not stop you having a flare.

Definitely still worth taking though!!

hello dillydally1,

I too take hydroxy, ive been on it 10 years. it does help dampen the effects of my lupus. it too made me feel nauseas. that does ease with time, I sucked a polo to help ease that feeling. I did have some hair loss but that was down to lupus for me, hair has grown back but instead of brown its grey! lol.

it is worth a try in my opinion, as my joints are so angry as they were.

good luck huny xx

Good morning

I have had hydroxychloroquin but it did nothing for my Rhumatoid or fybromialgia, I've tried most things including Metharexate, at the moment I'm takingSulphasalazin but even that is not great

I can't take any of the immunosuppressants because I have a brain tumor, and they can do more harm than good when you have either malignant or non-malignant tumors.

Good luck on your treatment!
