Gastric bypass

Hi all, I had a gastric bypass on October 8th and a few members asked me to let them know my progress. I have lost 4stone 5lb during this time !!!!!!! It's actually been a lot easier than I thought it would be. I'm now eating normal foods but sticking to the healthy option. The fibro is still in fine tune and still making it's presence know but in general I feel good due to the weight loss. I would highly recommend the op as long as you don't think it's an easy option. Hugs to you all xxx

Very well done, I hope that the weight loss continues. I am glad that you have found it easier than you thought it would be.

Did you get this done privately or on NHS?

It's something I have been thinking about as need to lose almost 7 stones. If private could you please let me know where it was done and would you recommend them?

Morning, yes I did get it on the nhs but I had to have the support of two consultants, one was a rheumatologist and the other was an orthopaedic consultant. From the first meeting with the Bariatric surgeon I waited just under a year. I need to loose 10stone and I'm heading towards the half way mark, I'm so pleased I had it done, my parents didn't want me to go ahead with it but my husband and my sons have and are giving me a lot of support. I do want to point out that it has not helped the fibro at all and the operation sent me into a dreadful flare up but I would recommend it but you still need an enormous amount of willpower.

Take care 😃😃😃
