SI injections tomorrow
Hi Vonny,
Yes, I have had steroid injections many times and I want to reassure you that though it sounds like a big deal, it really isn't. You don't say which joint you are having injected, but I've had them in my shoulders, my wrist and my ankle.
The local anaesthetic does a good job of numbing initially, you should almost get an immediate lessening of your pain level. Usually my GP advises that I take things a bit easy for about 3 days after the injection which actually does help things along.
I hope this has given you a bit of a boost and lessened your concern about the procedure. If you want any further information please feel free to PM me !
Sending lots of positive, soothing and calming vibes your way 😊😊

I had 4 fascia joint in lower spine and injections in the piriformis and sacroiliac joint injections. About 7 in total. It was horrible at the time and now 1 day later it's full ache. Not as bad as I thought it would be.
I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck with your steroid injection.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Every 4 weeks in my back. All I can say is they keep me walking. The first couple of days I am sore but after that it does help!
Had S1 joint done in June .wonderful just expect first couple of days or so to be a bit tough but rest then suddenly realise feel better.waiting for next one soon can't wait !!!
Good luck hugs to all
The relief from the pain will be wonderful. It may be a little sore after the anaesthetic wears off but the actual injection is nothing to worry about. I've had them in both my shoulders and both my hips. Only one of the four was sore but the relief from pain was just fantastic. Good luck.
I've also had them in numerous places. It is best to rest whichever joint has been injected to let the steroid settle in properly.
Mind you when I first had my feet done it was so difficult as suddenly it wasn't as painful to walk, but I think this was pre fibro days.
Ive had them in my feet and honestly it's not too bad so good luck.
Thanks everyone. It's really not as bad afterwards as I thought it would be. The procedure itself was sore it hurt.
