I've been prescribed an inhaler for the need to take a sudden deep intake of breath then letting it out as a sigh.
I also run out of breath when talking or singing. Anyone else get this

I don't have that problem however I was informed by my physio that my breathing is shallow, it seems that when in pain many almost hold their breath all the time. A lesson on how to breathe followed, I found that helpful, I have no underlying problem with my breathing though. xx
Hi, I get the feelings you describe , but I have C.O.P.D. I also have pernicious anemia . Both of these illnesses cause me to sigh in the way you are experiencing . The inhaler is great for helping you, keep using them and don't be afraid of the sighs just treat them as annoying.
I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution to this issue. I have this problem but I have chronic asthma and COPD. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of lcuk.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Yes, I get this. I cannot sing any more as I don't have enough breath, and I had Adult Voice therapy a few years back which didn't really help. I can't whistle any more either!
Ask to have your B12 levels tested, as "the sighs" are a common symptom of low B12. I had this as one of my earlier symptoms, and realised I was struggling to do my Yoga deep breathing exercises. MariLiz
