I have diabetic neuropathy and that cause the problem you described. Have they checked your sugar levels?

I hope that doctors will find out what is wrong soon! Sorry to hear you are in pain

It is quite easy to test the circulation with a doppler, some chiropodists will do it.

The concern with GCA is the Temporal artery and long term damage but the steroids prevent this.

The exercises will hopefully help the circulation as well as the facia of the foot!

Best Wishes, Ray

I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for. I am exactly the opposite as the soles of my feet are always painful. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ask for your B12 levels to be tested, numbness is a symptom of low B12. Also get VitD, ferritin and folate levels checked, if your doctor will do those blood tests for you? Best wishes MariLiz

Are you asking if the numbness and the planter fasciitis caused by the same thing?

Possibly not. The fasciitis is caused by a heel spur, which is an overgrowth of bone on the heel, just like a tiny spur. This then inflames the tendon, rest and exercises help but don't get rid of the cause. Steroid injections may help, mine gave great relief, but don't work for everyone.

Depending on how badly you are affected an op may be the only answer.

Now if the spur was lying on a nerve then yes it could be conceivable that they were caused by the same thing. However due to the length of time before the fasciitis reared it's head I would have thought it would be only a slim chance
