Spinal Stenosis or Severe Narrowing of the Spinal Column

I recently saw the back specialist and having had an MRI now know that this is my main problem and he also added that he does not believe I have MS or Fibro. I am seeing the neurologist next week as the back specialist agreed it would be a good idea. The operation I am likely to have on my back will not make me 100% but hopefully should stop me being in pain ALL the time despite morphine, Naproxen and Tramadol.

I am partially sad as it means I will no longer have the support of this group if I no longer come under the Fibro heading.

Most of us suffer from multiple things. So I don't see why you still can't come! We still need you.

My fibro is secondary to my other issues and is caused by them. One of which is spinal stenosis. However they don't want to operate unless I become bed bound. Wishing you luck

please consider surgery with great care. talk with several specialists before making the decision to have the surgery. know some people have gotten great relief from the surgery while others got no relief at all.

The doctor advised me to ask what the chances of improvement are. Did any of these people actually end up worse after the surgery than they were before?

one landed up better while one landed up with tremors in his hands. i guess because i've had so many problems whenever have a surgery that i hesitate going for surgery but that is me, not you. just suggest you try to check out your options. it's so hard when we live in a world of pain to even think about checking out other drs let alone other types of procedures. i can tell you that have had radio frequency oblation on lower back which made a huge difference in pain level the first two times had it done but third time was no help. when could afford it had found an excellent acup. who i saw twice a week. was huge help except twice a week was a ton of money. not sure if this helps or not...we each have different body's with different other health issues so makes this a difficult decision. wish you best of luck. keep us updated!

Thanks. I already have tremors throughout my body and thought that was the worst! I wouldn't want them getting worse though. I'll keep in mind what you've said.
