Sometimes Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy helps reduce the number and severity of migraine attacks. I run a Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Letchworth, Hertfordshire. But you can see if there is one near you at this website msntc.org.uk/centresearch.php Although they are called Multiple Sclerosis therapy centres, most treat people with any condition - including Migraine. Hi B2WC,
I'm very happy to hear your story about how you have been able to come off your meds, and that you're finally "managing" your Fibromyalgia without them. You've worked with your Doc, and worked out a plan to suit you. That's just it though, that is to suit YOUR medical conditions and needs.
As we all know, Fibromyalgia is a very unique condition that varies from one person to the next, and not everyone has all the same symptoms as another sufferer, therefore not everyone is treated with the same Meds, and given the same referrals to different Consultants and Specialities. Also, some of us have other illnesses, often complex in nature and in treatment.
Taking all of the above into consideration, we must be very careful in advising people to come off their Meds, as what is fine for one person, could be dangerous for another. Most of us on this forum would dearly love to chuck all our pills away, but sadly in reality we cannot do this. Not because we don't want to, but because we live in the hope that they will at least take some of the unrelenting pain that so many of us suffer on a daily basis away.
I wish you well, and again, I'm happy that you have found a way to " manage" your Fibromyalgia in a way that suits your needs.
Hi GJ, I know that is why I ha share that they should really liaise with their GPS, but the bottom line of the FM is inflammation...even the health care professionals have not find the cure for it..hence they are trying to find and try which tablet/s suit person to managing it..not curing it...I do believe though that God give us human being the body to heal itself...so if we have enough supplement and listen to what our gps advise us to do (changing our lifestyle) we are going to successfully managing better..for example...just like a car if it is being looked after..the engine will run smoothly..the same with our body..with regular exercise..eating the right food.., drinking plenty of fluid, enough sleep, reduce alcohol intake, stop smoking..we will be able to repair our self..., that is the guidance my GPS and NICE guideline stated as well, and it is taking me some time..and I also taking some supplements (Alas the NHS would not pay for it), so it is worth to try it..as I think our health is more important than anything else in this world..don't you agree? I still have a long time to go...but I am getting there...
