On several occasions I've woke up

with a horrible headache and feeling sick to my stomache. My

Could this be a new symptom?

need some help! I know I posted

this before and many replied

I suppose it could be another symptom of FM. Others can answer this better.

Headaches can be associated with nausea, especially with migraines. Do you get any of the other signs of a migraine? Maybe consider telling your doctor that you think they're migraines and asking for Sumatryptan. I get migraines now and then. Now if I get a severe headache, I take this med before it gets any worse, heading toward what I think might be a migraine.

It is interesting that I didn't start getting them regularly before FM (and I'm pretty sure I had fibro well before diagnosed). They are worse when I am very stressed.

Thank you for the advice

I will ask the doctor and

also ask about the med. X

Hi there,

It does sound rather like migraine to me with the nausea, and migraines are a common part of fibro, so I wonder if that may be what is happening. You can buy over the counter meds to help if they aren't severe, but you must speak with your GP if they continue or get worse in any way 😳

Lots of healing vibes winging their way to you 😃

I have migraines...... there is a fair amount of thot that migraines can often be a co-existing condition with fibro..... I have a quite lengthy 'rap sheet' of conditions..... Any way..... it is very common for some people to become sick to their stomach if the migraine has not been treated effectively or soon enough. Sometimes I wake up in the morning sick if I got a migraine during the night and it went untreated. Also fyi for women.... migraines tend to decrease substantially after menapause ....... thank goodness for the little things in life!! :)

Yes have this. How severe seems to depend a lot of what I ate the day before, and get worse if I don't get up immediately.

I have those headaches sometimes. Wake up with a banging head that leads to nausea as well. The best remedy is going back to bed for a nap, as in spite of pain medication, the headaches persist. I find rest is the only thing that helps. Good luck. It is such a horrible feeling.

I did that all day yesterday

Was up all night! Thank

you for your support. X

I suffer from migraine and can sometimes feel quite sick as well but I also get tension headaches and quite often these come with the nausea and just feeling awful and pain killers don't touch it. To be honest sometimes it is a relief when it finally triggers a migraine as I know the meds I have will treat the migraine and I will eventually feel better. Gentle hugs, Steph

Hi,

What did you eat the night before? I've found that if I've had MSG (in chinese food especially) I am woken up by the intense sicky headache. What you eat really does play havoc with FM and Endometriosis. Look at what is in your diet, to see if there is any correlation. If you massage or squeeze the stretchy fleshy part of your hands, between the bottom of your thumb and first finger, for about 5 mins on each hand, your headache may lessen especially if the headache feels like its in your eyebrows or forehead.

Hope you find relief.x

Thank you so much for

reply. I are a lot of sugar

and fat. Could trigger

a headache and more! X

That's very helpful advice. I conbine four techniques when I have a persistent tension headache.

One is the method you mentioned MadMaud - that's an accupuncture/accupressure point.

I also do gentle circles on the temles and behind the ears.

I also use the accupressure point under the eyebrows and put upward pressure on them. This hurts at first so I have to start gently and increase pressure slowly.

The last thing I learned umpteen years ago, but have only started using more often. I think it is Hindi in origin. You have to sit up with a stragiht back, push on your occiput (the base of the skull) and hold the palm of your hand against the point between the eyes (6th chakra) and press in each place.

However, this does nothing for migraines. Getting out of the light, noise, and any stimulation, and resting in my dark room is best for me. Sometimes I even curl up with moist heat pad on my abdomen.

I have never correlated diet to migraines. Thanks for that advice. I will pay attention next time.

MSG is a HUGE trigger for headaches and migraines for ME! I don't eat any Asian meals without asking if they use MSG, and ask them to omit if they do! I've found fewer restaurants here in the Dallas area still using it. (Maybe many have learned that it's NOT a healthy food additive, though it seems to help keep food brightly colored!)

Thank you I will watch what I'm

eating to see if it makes a difference. X

My headaches are part of my fibromyalgia they also affect my sight and they last for days as yet I haven't found anything that helps them I think it is sometimes related to sleep deprivation but sleeping tablets don't work so I am still looking for the answer

I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I have terrible migraines and sometimes I awake with this sort of thing. It may be best to ask your GP about migraines and see what they think? There are plenty of really good effective medications like Sumatriptan that work well for me. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
