Just had a look, they mention something called Qigong as being helpful so have downloaded an app on my tablet to have a try. Worth giving anything a go if it might help.

I have that on a tai chi video. It's all good.

I'll add that heat may be better in some circumstances than cold. . .

It has the same soothing effect, but speeds healing

I also believe that you dont need any special kit, but if you have and like a bike, or already like swimming, then go for it.

Dear fenbadger and The Author

I hope you find this helpful

Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention. The word Qigong (Chi Kung) is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that flows through all things in the universe.

The Star Wars character is called Qui-Gon Jinn pronounced Chee-gon Gin

Yes, he is a Jedi

Qui-Gon is the main character in the first episode of the prequel trilogy, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. He is a wise and powerful Jedi Master and the mentor of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Unlike other, more conservative Jedi, he values living in the moment as the best way to embrace the Force. While some Jedi respect him highly, others are puzzled or even discomforted by his unorthodox beliefs. He is not a member of the ruling Jedi Council despite being among the most powerful of the Jedi. Qui-Gon strongly believes that there is good in all people and that nothing happens without a reason

Jinn, was played with calm authority by Liam Neeson [swoon. I've liked him for over 30 years when he first appeared on our screens as 'Blackie' in 'A Woman of Substance'] and constantly bent the Jedi code to his own purposes, cheating during a game of chance with Watto and defying the Jedi Council over Anakin

Finally, Darth Maul kills Qui-Gon but is slain in turn by Obi-Wan Kenobi.

PS I had a lovely sleep last night following everyone's advice. Even though it wasn't very long it was the 'right' type of sleep. Also, I put soap in my bed and I didn't get any cramps - amazing.

Thank you everyone for helping me. You are wonderful people. I wish I could meet you all and give you each a [gentle] hug. x

Virtual hugs are acceptable and I humbly bow to your superior knowledge. I think you could give Ken a run for his money.

GENTLE is the key to exercise. We're not training for a marathon, just keeping the muscles and joints moving. There are lots of posts on the subject and plenty on the mother site and NHS direct.

I understand tai chi or qigong was inspired by someone watching a crane and a snake fighting. Bears no relation to the human body's needs but I understand the symbology.

Finally I'm glad you slept well. It's what you deserve. I hope it helps. :)

Cheers for that my friend xxx
