Fibro and pregnancy?

OK so I have fibro and have 2 young children but want another (and final!) Baby. I've not long seen my consultant and before my app at drs next week, I just wanted to ask the advice of all you ladies, if you had fibro before babies. I've weaned myself off most medication as the side effects were killing me, how did your fibro behave during pregnancy?

I believe I've had it for a while but only recently diagnosed, my condition seams a lot lighter than most of you on here but i get very tired, can't sleep and I hurt everywhere, worse in one part of my body which seams to vary daily! So any advice for me?

There are some very big difference between MS and Fibro, although many of the symptoms are very similar. MS is caused by lesions on the brain and / or upper spinal column. Whereby Fibro is caused by signals from the brain.

The only way to ascertain for certain if you have MS or not is through an MRI of the brain. My wife has Primary Progressive MS, and even many of her medications are the same as mine as she uses Pregabalin and Nortriptyline.

If you are really worried about having MS it would be beneficial to discuss having an MRI with your GP or Medical Specialist. Please remember that there are only about 100,000 people in the UK to have MS, yet there are about 2 million with Fibro, so please take heart from this.

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

Al my hopes and dreams for you

I'm way past having more babies..but do have 6 grand babies now!! As you state, you don't feel quite as bad as some on here at the moment, I would weigh up the pro's and con's before making a decision. If you have a fabulous support network and obliging family members who understand the problems you may encounter you're half way there!! Talk it through with everyone involved and I want to wish you all the best in your decision!...much love...ninja...♥♥
