Fibro: Still waiting for diagnosis but... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Fibro
Morning! Unfortunately, yes. Fibro can flare up and down. Plus, if you felt good and were quite active, you may have done a little too much and worn yourself out.
Ugh, it’s so difficult to balance rest and activity!
On the plus side, I have heard of people’s Fibro symptoms being calm/under control for long periods of time too.
On another note, please be careful with the Naproxen- it can really hurt your stomach. I take it every day, but I also take a prescribed Omeprazole daily to protect my stomach.
Also preferably with food, if you can, but not always necessary if you’re taking the Omeprazole. I’m the same with ibuprofen. Works well but gives me awful indigestion!
All the best x
simple answer yes! For me I am changing depending on the weather so no wind no rain and I can be low level flare. High winds tonne of rain and I go nuts so yesterday started day calmer for me but by midnight when storm started I went into overdrive.
Hi There
Sadly, yes it does... well, it does for me. Naproxen is very much the same as ibuprofen, never taken it myself. With ibuprofen it best taken after food assume naproxen is the same.?
It just a painkiller and anti inflammatory. Like most of us when it's a good day we tend to overdo it and suffer the next day... or maybe get a run of good/ day days.
The weather doesn't help if you feel the cold. As it's early days, try some gentle exercise to keep joints and muscles going and you may find certain foods can aggravate it..
Take care.
Hi
You definitely do get good days and bad but I’ve found out the hard way that when you get good days don’t go mad and think you can run a marathon as you will find the next day you feel like you’ve slammed into a brick wall or done one round with a professional boxer! It’s all about finding your limits and I’m still learning, I’ve had this for 10 years but only got the diagnosis in January 🙄 I’m now following a food plan to see if it helps. My weekend was hell but today I’m feeling great so I concentrate on that. Take each day as it comes but I know how it brings you down a lot. I’ve discovered new hobbies to take my mind off the pain. Hope you get an answer soon
Yes, that’s definitely the case with me. When I’m going through a good phase I wonder if I’m getting better or exaggerated the symptoms. It’s easy to forget how bad things can get when you’re feeling good. Then it’ll hit me again like a ton of bricks and I can barely move, sometimes for weeks or even a couple of months. It’s looking forward to the good days that keep me going when symptoms are really bad. I’m going through an extended flare up right now. I’m hoping it improves when the weather gets better.
Oh yes some days I could take on the world other days can't get out of bed x
Sorry to say that's what fibro does it plays games like the other day got up felt fine no pain then when it come to the afternoon I went into a full fibro flare racked in that much pain I was crying with it it's like a volume on a radio and it can be very low then I can feel it getting higher and higher until bang full force it messes with your mind the anxiety ect ect as other people say you have to pace yourself it's hard to accept ime still struggling with it and I have had it for years but this site is good so when you need help because when you think your on your own because I do they help you to let you your not so ime sending you lots of gentle fibro huggs🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😊 Tillytrots xx
Thanks all , happy to stay on Naproxen for a little longer tried 2 days off to see if I was clear but obviously not will finish my course get bk to docs and hopefully get diagnosed accurately, think I'm coming to terms with this not going away .
Oh Yes! For me, Fibro is dependent on the weather, when it's fine and warm, I'm comfortable (and I don't mean hot), as I burn easily when the temperature is too high.
However, when it is Grim, grey, grimy and cold, I am definitely not a happy bunny. Pain is worse, and so is my mood.
Today has been neutral, a little sun and a bit grey,
I don't have medication as such, haven't been able to get an appointment with a GP in 4 years, but I used to be a nurse, so I take Ibuprofen if I need it after meals, and occasionally I'll have a month on Omeprazol, if it's really kicking me. Don't use me as an example though, be safe, consult your GP.
Cheers, Midori
