Mum has a list of illnesses shes just reached 60 and seems to be getting worse so much so she now hardly leaves the house!
she has fibromyalgia, sciatica, spondilos, oestoarthrist and 1 or 2 more that I can remember.
Last few days she has been sweating so much but feels really cold and is cold and sweaty to touch.
her doctor is crap, stil waiting to see a specialist since august. She is on loads of meds such as tramadol, lyrica, kerlfux and many more again I can't remember names. I actually worry the amount of meds she is om too especially the tramadol.
any advice is greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear this, I would strongly advise getting a new GP and insist on further investigation she has the right to do this, you don't have to give a reason when you change. Go with her if possible and put your foot down get answers. Hope your Mum feels better soon, she is lucky to have you. Lou x
The normal waiting time after the hospital receives a referral and an appt being booked shouldn't be more than 18 weeks in most cases. As she has heard nothing I am just wondering whether the doctor has actually referred her. I am only asking as this happened to me twice and it was only after 12 weeks of hearing nothing I chased the matter up and I either had not been referred or the referral letter had been lost. Especially as she seems to be feeling so ill I think she needs to chase this up.
It seems that poor Mom has alot going on with her health and is on alot of meds. Sometimes these meds don't mix well together and what suits one person doesn;t suit another. I know there has been alot of bad press about Tramadol and I think that has scared some people but if it is taken within the guidelines and no more than strictly necessary for some people it can be a Godsend, unfortunately it didn;t suit me.
Alot of people with fibro seem to have difficulty in regulating their body temperature. I seem either to be freezing or boiling nothing in between and the slightest exersion makes me sweat quite profusely.
From reading your post I can tell you are really worried, please try to persuade her to make an appt with her GP. If you yourself want to find out more about fibro and how it can affect a person and the relevant treatments, etc do go on our mothere site FibroAction where you will find alot of good information.
Thanks very both for your replies. She chased the referral and they just informed her to wait. Unfortunately its not 1 particular doctor its the whole surgery and nearby surgies are just as bad. Unfortunately I also live 2 hours away, she is staying with me at the moment so am trying to see if my doctors will see her as a temporary patient. Its so hard to see her get progressiely worse.
That is a brilliant idea about asking your GP to see her as a temporary patient as a new set of thoughts on her condition can only be good. I am glad she is with you as being a 4 hour round journey away must be very worrying for you. As I've said before let us know how it all goes.x
Oh, looloo that so sad. We know the NHS is creaking at the seams but this is unacceptable. You're already doing what you should, and are great to have her with you. I wonder if you have the strength to take it up a stage and complain to the Primary Care Trust? This problem wont go away and time is more or less of the essence for you mum. Please wish her the best from me.
I am so very sorry to read this, and if she gets any worse I would ring the 111 service who can make you an appointment with a GP at a walk in centre. I want to genuinely wish her all the best of luck.
Thanks guys! Managed to get my mum to see my gp who was lovely and diagnosed a chest infection straight away and has sent for her to have a chest xray and prescribed antibiotics and is then going to look into her conditions and medications. X
