Hi everyone, hope this is a good day for u all. Well i went to my first circut therapy today. What a reality check. Did not realise just how unfit i have become with this condition. All i had to do was 2 mins on 6 activities, after 2 the pain was unbearable. I am now sat on sofa and cant move. To top the lot its my birthday tomorrow and i am supposed to be out with hubby tonight, theres no chance of that happening now. Thought i was going for therapy not torture.
xx

You may find it beneficial to go out tonight maybe not for a whole evening, I usually feel my spirits lift if I socialise every so often. Whatever you decide I'd like to wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow xx
Thanks lou for your birthday wishes. But i cant move, so we now having takeout which is still a treat so i will enjoy it. Going to try n get out tomorrow thanks for the advice.x
Unfortunately, the first session of anything be it hydro or circuit training can be a shock to the system as you have probably used muscles that you haven't used in ages and they are in a state of shock. Enjoy your takeaway and I sincerely hope you will be feeling better for your birthday tomorrow. Hope the next session is a bit easier on the old body. xxx
I am so sorry to read that you are now suffering after your first circuit therapy and I sincerely hope that you are feeling much better now. As rosewine says, it can be difficult after doing some kind of physical activity for the first time.
Hopefully it will get easier as it gos on?

Hi Claire
The feeling like you've done 10 rounds (or less) with Mike Tyson is a kicker and remember it all to well after my first Hydrotherapy session....... I could barely move for a week and just as I felt ok it was time for session 2 and so on!
Over time as the muscles get more used to it and the effects aren't so bad so persevering is good if you can I had to stop Hydro because my hypermobility did not like it even though my muscles did conflict
Maybe planning some relaxation therapy such as PMR (Progressive Muscular Relaxation) therapy or guided imagery to help relax your muscles properly before exercising at your sessions (and for 30 minutes every day) could help to lessen the end impact on your body.
