This is kind of what I was hoping all would see... This is a person from my Facebook group... For years I identified myself by my ADHD. I made excuses for all my 'negative' symptoms by telling people I'm ADHD. Couple years back I found a book called 'the joys of ADHD' and it changed my life. The book told me about all the positive aspects of my personality because of ADHD. I'm a compassionate, empathetic, multi-tasker with a penchant for visual learning and I excel at visualizing my work, which is great as an LMT. I now understand why I do things the way I do. I need things to take a little longer, so things like cooking the long way, e. g. From scratch pasta or cheese sauces, help me to both understand what I did and gives me something to do so I don't drift off into lala land and stare at a wall. And some times, I enjoy staring at the wall because it doesn't interrupt the 24/7 carousel that is my thought process and I can really get some deep thoughts thunk. I love my ADHD where before I thought it was a curse that would follow me for life and I take great joy in educating people about it.

And yes I understand this post she's talking about ADHD... However...I think if you look at your health concerns in a different way it can and just might be more manageable, change your life in a good way.. Just try positive...,??
Very interesting. Leonardo Da Vinci used to stare at his wall for hours on end during the night. He said it gave him inspiration and ideas!
In the same way pain is important to our well being, lack of feeling pain can be very dangerous. Reading about leprosy and diabetes may me realise this.
Yes. I hate to say but pain and stress makes us stronger. I'd like to qualify that with - but only if it's not too much in one go. I hadn't thought of ADHD like that. I'd gone along with the stereotype that autistic spectrum generally lacks empathy . . . It's good to be enlightened
My great-nephew has ADHD and he definitely doesn't lack empathy. He's an extremely sweet and loving boy and very sensitive to others. Sadly, other children at his school aren't so sensitive towards him and he's been bullied a lot.
